have some bad art of a new character i recently made
his name is royalty, or just roy for short
a history of sunday’s design and of the game’s art style and how it slowly changed
1. sunday’s first design. at this point i didn’t even have a name for the game, just the basic character design. for a while, sunday didn’t even have a main color. in fact, before i settled on his fur being purple, i also considered blue, yellow and brown as possible fur colors
2. this marks sunday’s fur being settled on purple, as well as the second color his design ever had, green, for his eyes. this was before the colors of his clothes had been anywhere CLOSE to finalized, and was also back when he still wore a binder before i retconned it, and decided that by the time the game’s events begin he’s already had top surgery
3. this marked a few changes to sunday’s design, such as the inclusion of a knife as a weapon, and completely different colors for his binder and shorts
4. marked the beginning of sunday’s clothes over his tank top/binder and shorts being light purple with white lining
5. sunday’s binder and shorts were changed to be the same color, a dark blue, much closer to the current design
6. sunday’s first major redesign, with a LOAD of differences, such as his noteworthy scarf (though by this time it looked far more grey than green, due to the color scheme largely being washed out), and it marked the change to one of his weapons being a gun, though the gun’s design by this point was very basic and unrefined. in addition, the knife had still not yet been dropped as a weapon for sunday. this was also the point at which sunday started getting far more expressive
7. the most noteworthy change here is a small overhaul to the gun’s design
8. sunday’s color scheme starts getting more balanced out
9. more development to sunday’s expressiveness was made
10. marks a notable shift in the art style, with much larger, more detailed sprites. however, sunday’s design is almost unchanged aside from the new art style
11. marks the debut of sunday’s current design, albeit with some slightly unrefined colors
12. sunday’s color scheme really starts coming into it’s own here
13. yet another change to the art style, a much more significant one. sunday has notably lost the knife as a weapon by now, but the gun is still very simple and uncreative in it’s design
14. sunday’s gun is completely overhauled, having a new, interesting design, and being changed to a stun gun
15. sunday’s gun has some new added elements to make the design even more interesting
drew saturday earlier today!
