Letting trivial things stop you from being carefree

I’m starting a blog #onyx+Opal it’s about my very humble beginnings as a model and a personality. This will be my second blog and I am way out of my comfort zone because it's all about me. I struggle to see why anyone would want to hear about my life but that’s why this blog is so important in my journey. I’ve been behind the scenes in almost all of my creative projects and that has enabled my bad habit of refusing to see my shine. I realized that my biggest fear about being a brand is that I’m actually extremely amazing and talented. Maybe I’m afraid of losing friends. Maybe im afraid of the bruises and scars I will get once I shed my shell. Maybe im afraid of letting out all of my glory because women like that are “hard to love.” Shrinking myself is something that I’ve learned to embody. My environment, my words, even my beliefs have evolved to fit the small shell that I’ve put myself into. I'm coming out, because I finally realized that the shell that I live in is unsafe for my psyche. Its toxic for my future. I’m tired of holding myself back. I want to be carefree. -Des Brown
