This fic, along with Espionage, make up my headcanons regarding young!royai and are my two favorite takes on the matter. Leah is so masterful in the way she develops Riza and Roy’s relationship, Riza’s relationship with her father, and in the way that she puts you into Riza’s mindset. This honestly felt like it could have been a light novel or a volume of the manga, and everything about her characterization of Roy and Riza is so fantastic, as is the way she depicts their world and describes their emotions and interactions. I can’t sing the praises of Where We’re Going enough! It’s easily one of my favorite fanfics, and impacted me such a way that I still think about and reread it.
