#dervoured

               the smile plastered upon her features fades.  excitement upon his return home poisoned by the sight of dark bruising and god knows what else beneath his hoodie.   it’s a strange mixture of emotions which rises within her.  worry.  fear.  anger.  it’s not so unusual a sight around here—  there’s a reason amir has plenty of work.  but it doesn’t make her any less displeased when he’s the one sporting traces of injuries.  ❛  what the fuck happened to you?  ❜  it’s signed as she resumes approaching gabriel.  the moment the last motion is signed her hand lifts to gingerly touch his jaw.  

                  ‘ worked here a long time? ’ as if someone couldn’t tell by his videos, fin was a very friendly and talkative guy. and since the bar wasn’t that busy, he shuffled his glass of whiskey around and glanced up at the bartender in front of him, starting a conversation to keep his mind busy while he took a break from his work. ‘ you seem like you know what you’re doing, ’     @dervoured​ + raina.

                    ‘ great — who did you piss off this time? ’     @dervoured​.

                   five days clean. it’s more than he’s had in a year, maybe more than he’s ever had. and he’s done it by himself, with no one to help him, this time. pride swells in him, the man reaching up to wipe snot from his nose. it’s cold tonight. with the money he’s saved so far ( originally sought out to get high with ), he knew he could find a place to stay. a motel room, maybe. from then, maybe he’d call nell, his other siblings, tell them... tell them it was different, this time. chilled hands in his pockets, eyes move to his friend, clementine, idea brewing as he approaches. he doesn’t know if she’s sober, and he doesn’t ask. ‘  hey, clem,  ’ luke greets with a smile, teeth chattering ever so slightly. ‘  hey, i was... was wondering if i could stay with you. tonight. not, um... not for a long time, just maybe... a night or two,  ’ the man sniffs, eyes pleading. ‘  i’m... i’m clean, so... i’d really appreciate a place to stay,  ’

jeremy  was  sleeping  peacefully  when  he  was  so  rudely  interrupted  with  a  kiss.  he  groaned  in  response,  but  was  still  half  asleep.  then  she  kissed  him  again  . . .  and  again  . . .  and  as  he  slowly  started  to  stir,  the  corners  of  his  lips  curled  up  until  he  finally  kissed  her  back  and  opened  his  eyes.  he  was  smirking  up  at  her,  waggling  his  brows  teasingly.  “who  are  you  and  what  have  you  done  with  my  girlfriend?”  he  asked,  testing  how  the  new  label  she  finally  agreed  to.

   the  liquid  swirls  as  she  tilts  the  cup  before  her.  it’s  a  dark  color,  and  the  smell  --  it’s  familiar  as  if  she’s  definitely  handled  it  before  at  work.  inhaling,  she  holds  the  drink  close  and  brings  it  to  her  lips.  it  tastes  sweet,  slightly  warming  over  her  tongue.  “ hmm,  it’s  nice. ”  the  taste  goes  slightly  sour  though.  she  looks  at  the  other  woman,  head  tilting  to  the  right,  “ thank  you.  what’s  in  it ?  i  think  i  taste  . . . .  juniper,  but,  it’s  good. ”   

he thinks it over for a moment, a small smile tugging at his lips at the thought.  he hadn’t made it there before the turn of things --- he wasn’t even sure if he would. while he always had ambitions and a course he wished his life to take,  it was always about timing,  and by the time of the fall,  he never got his chance.  but everything he’s accomplished here so far is proof that he could have made it on his own before,  and he’s grateful for his real-life experience.  ❝  really?  i-- i never went myself.  almost  .  .  .   i thought about it,  it was just one of those things that was gonna come when it could,  y’know?  ❞  he looks her over for a moment,  intrigue in his eyes as he wonders what it would have been that she spent her time on before all of this.  ❝  you never went,  huh?  what’d you wanna do  ---  before all this?  ❞
