X my muse doesnât remember anything from the night before. They have blood on their hands, and your muse is beaten at their feet.
[Note: Wasnât sure which way this was gonna go, but made the executive decision about who beat up who.]
When Oliver came to, he felt like shit. His head hurt like a mother, he could barely see out of his left eye, his lip felt like it had been split, and his whole body ached. He groaned and rolled over onto his side. Groaned again when he saw Derek passed out on the sofa, his knuckles bloody and empty beer cans all over the couch and floor.
âFuck,â he hissed, lying back down again.Â
Derek stirred on the couch and Oliver resisted the urge to swear again, hoping that Derek would fall back asleep long enough that he could get out of there. He had played the punching bag last night because he deserved it, but he was in no mood to wind up dead.Â
Derek opened bleary eyes and focused them on Oliver. They widened when they took in Oliverâs appearance. âOlly?â he asked, his voice thick with sleep. Derek winced, and Oliver surmised the guy probably had a hangover. âWhat happened to you?âÂ
Oliver didnât know whether to laugh or cry. He was tempted to say, âYou happened,â but then Derek would really get curious. If he didnât remember, all the better. It hadnât been particularly fun facing Derekâs anger and hurt over finding out that Oliver was the one who had attacked him all those years ago. Despite Derek clearly being saved from turning, and not remembering anything from back then, it had still come as a shock to the doctor. And a betrayal. Oliver would never have allowed them to become friends if he had known. He felt terrible over what happened that night, but his wolf, alcohol, and rohypnol from a few sips taken of a female friendâs had gotten the best of him.
Oliver had let Derek throw the punches last night because he knew he deserved it. Despite everything working out--for the most part--he was aware of the damage he had done, and the betrayal Derek felt now.Â
âGot in a fight,â Oliver answered instead.Â
Derek frowned, and lifted a hand to his head. He noticed the knuckles. âDid I get in a fight too?â he asked.Â
Oliver let out a harsh laugh. âYeah, something like that.âÂ
