Day 5: Blade-Wielder
Who is your fav “behind-the-scenes” person?
I’ll prob have to say Hou Minghao, as the actor for Wang Ye, he did an amazing job! He’s the only actor who could ever perfectly pull off a character like him 😌
I also find the story of how he became the actor for WY really interesting. He apparently was the one who came up the director about it and auditioned on his own without the help of his company (his company is ass anyway!!) and the director was so touched he basically passed the audition. Minghao even learned Tai Chi a year prior to the role which is honestly so much dedication!
I think the funniest thing to me is that HMH is the biggest fan of YRZX as well and had been reading the comic since it came out, his fav character IS Wang Ye!
I think that’s prob the coolest flex in the world as a fan of something, “yea I play and portray my fav character in the live action 😼”
I also have to thank the director (Derek Hui) for having such a good casting! I am surprised at how well most of the characters look like their characters in the manhua lmao-
And even if I’m not the biggest fan of the TV show, I still love his dedication to the media and for doing everything in his power to give us the experience of the manhua to the big screen, I def see his efforts paying off!! (I mostly blame the writers anyway for weird things sigh)
Also I am glad that he’s still directing the series, and even confirmed three more seasons in the future which!! I’m so excited 😌‼️ I will def have to wait a million years but by then hopefully I finish the manhua and I hope that HMH will still be playing Wang Ye!
