Derek removes it from his hand silently and replaces it with an apple. Stiles scowls at him for a second then bites into it, regardless. Derek sits back and lets the group discuss the merits of dramatic lifesaving feats for winning over the ladies. Scott is convinced it’ll help impress Allison; Isaac thinks Scott’s a loser. My Take - Good - definitely worth a read.
What I liked:
The medical AU. Surprisingly, I'm not sure I've read one before; this makes me want more.
I loved the humor, especially in the beginning. It's a very witty story that left me chuckling numerous times.
I really liked the interplay and dynamic between Stiles and Derek, especially in the early part of the story. It was sweet and totally, totally believable to me.
The use of medical terminology was (to me, not a medical person) totally believable. I found myself thinking it was so cool that a doctor was writing Sterek fic! Until I read the notes and saw that the author isn't a med professional at all. Coulda fooled me!
What was mixed:
The prolonged drama largely came down to "miscommunication" that could have been averted entirely by a single sentence uttered by either of them. (On the other hand, I did really like that scene in the elevator where they both utter the needed sentence -- it felt earned by that point!)
