In addition to many beautiful horses, the carousel at The Children’s Museum has goats, giraffes, stags, a tiger, and a lion, all made by Dentzel in the early 1900s. These animals (the ones that aren’t horses) are known as menagerie animals.

definitely the standers!
they aren’t many people’s first choice to ride just because they stay in place & don’t move up and down lol
usually these horses are on the outside row, making them taller in comparison to the jumping horses since they have no height to gain! they are what we see first as an outside perspective
i think it’s sweet that they are there to welcome us first :) thank you for the ask!
