3. how often do you reach for a synonym dictionary when writing? how about mentally?

More like a normal dictionary! Since english isn’t my first language, I’d say on average it happens at least once, maybe twice, per day that I look up a word either that I didn’t ‘get’ in my partner’s reply, or, and I think that’s much more often the case, that I want to use in my reply but don’t know what’s the right one yet.

I don’t really look for synonyms, though. I think that looking up synonyms isn’t really a thing that anyone should need to do, I like to think that writing should come natural and not be filled by words only because you don’t want to use one word again. (’Say’, for example, is an exception, but there a synonym dictionary probably doesn’t help anyway)

10. how much do you proof-read as you are writing vs. proof-read at the end?
