The Palantir AI surveillance company is disturbing enough with being named after the orbs from LOTR. It gets scarier when you consider what the nazis could have done if they had access to this tech. Originally they established a surveillance state by tapping the phone lines and using the Gestapo. But this had limitations. For every person they wanted to keep an eye on they needed a real life human being to take time out of their day to read the suspect's mail or listen to their phone or physically go out and spy on them. With Palantir they could have discovered pretty much every person in their country who's phone they had tapped that the AI flagged as a person of interest. Another impact of AI that would change things for the worse.
