I realized I never shared her reference here! But this is Merrin, Channelle's best friend.
Merrin owns Pencaster Books in Studio City, which is named after her and Channelle's late friend Scribs Pencaster, who aspired to start his own bookstore. Merrin has a temper and can be rude, but she has polished her language and mellowed out in the years since Scribs' death.
While she's a supporting character in Please Stand By, she's more prominent in a prequel story I've written about Channelle that I'm still unsure about posting. It covers much darker themes, which is why it's not quite mentioned until now. Maybe someday soon I'll have the confidence to share it after, Please Stand By!
