Next up: December & Asriel

OLT takes place in a true good ending timeline of Deltarune. No more Dark Worlds, but many characters still get their happy endings. Dess is one of them.

After being freed from her “curse”, she spends a year recovering, learning to walk again, going through rehab, and adjusting to a world that moved on without her.

Her sister and Kris grew up. Asriel finished school and college. Everything changed. She didn’t.

But with support from the people around her, Dess chooses to keep going, 'cause she’s been given a second chance.

She moves to the capital with Asriel, who is already building his career as a lawyer.

Reconnecting with old friends, she finds her place again in the music industry as a producer, MV director, and festival organizer (where OLT bands sometimes perform).

She also plays a big role in the creation of One Liar’s Tale, strongly supporting the group from the beginning.

FINALLY! Meet 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗲: 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲!!!

In simple terms: an AU about grown-up Krusie. In more complicated terms: a post-canon story where the heroes of the prophecy have to save the world 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲.

OLT is built on three fan theories: • Dess = the Roaring Knight (at this point it’s basically fandom law lmao) • Ralsei is Kris’s horns • Susie’s shattered prophecy foretold the closure of ALL Dark Fountains, including the one in Castle Town

They couldn’t escape fate. December is saved, the Roaring is stopped — but the Light and Dark Worlds are separated for good.

With their friends and purpose gone, Kris and Susie find comfort in each other. After graduation, they leave Hometown to start a new life.

Kris gets into a metropolitan conservatory to study composition. New faces, new friends. Together with Susie, they start their own rock band: 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗮𝗿’𝘀 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲

Honestly, I’ve been putting this off for a while 'cause Krusie aren’t the only characters in the story. But it’s probably better to share things bit by bit as I go.

I feel like Kris would totally join the fencing club at uni in the OLT AU. They're still a knight, even without the Dark Worlds.

Also, fencers look cool as hell. Obviously

⠀After finishing school and before university, they decide to take a little journey. ⠀To clear their heads after everything that happened in Hometown — after the Prophecy, the Roaring, after losing all their friends by closing all the fountains. ⠀ ⠀A rest, just for them, to figure out how to move on.

Stepping into my personal OC shame territory because I'm finally introducing original characters into this AU 😓 In my defense, the story doesn't take place in Hometown anymore, and Krusie have naturally picked up a few new friends along the way.

So, meet Nasla. A fish monster who attends a fancy conservatory in sweatpants and sees absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Nasla was Kris' first friend in uni. They met during the entrance exams, where Nasla was happily handing out advice as a repeat applicant. By the start of the semester they had already gravitated toward each other through shared interests and their mutual status as small-town transplants trying to survive life in the big city.

And Nasla comes from a town even more rural than Hometown. He's also from a very large family as in thirteen children total. Needless to say, concepts like personal space and boundaries are largely foreign to the Shoul family 🤷‍♀️ Being the second oldest, Nasla basically came with the "responsible older brother" DLC pre-installed.

(Fun fact: all the piercings on his fins happened because his younger sisters were nervous about getting theirs done, so he volunteered to go first)

Susie and Nasla became friends within roughly five minutes of meeting each other. Later on, Nasla helped her find drum lessons through the music school where he works.Before long, hanging out with instruments became just as common as hanging out anywhere else. Playing favorite songs, writing melodies, improvising for hours. One Liar's Tale band was basically born from a simple: "why the hell not?"
