It will take more than one person to break the prophecy.
I've seen multiple people theorize that Susie or Ralsei will break it. These theories are valid and make sense. My thought, however, is that the prophecy can't be broken unless the fun gang works together. Both Susie and Ralsei have moments of another telling them that they can chart their own path. Kris, just like many other things, is isolated from this. They are stuck in two roles, the cage and the knight's ally. (I'll talk more about this in a bit) Chapter 5 not only show Kris being isolated, but Susie and Ralsei being more distant too. This isn't to say that they aren't close. Its also understandable for Susie to be riding the high of having a girlfriend (not to mention friends). Despite this, the fun gang is growing distant from each other, even if it's Kris more so than the others.
Talking about Susie, we see how love finds its way to the girl. She now has the love of her girlfriends and friends. She also has become a beacon a hope. It is amazing to see her grow into this and therefore into the person she wants to be. Despite that, her hope is one of the most defining traits the prophecy gives her. Another part of the prophecy, is that the girl is supposed to wear ribbons. What does Susie start to do? This could be her wanting to experiment with how she wants to present herself as well. At the end of the day, however, the prophecy says that she is girl with hope that finds love and wears ribbons.
When it comes to Ralsei, the prophecy just say that he's a lonely prince of the dark. His want to become a princess shown throughout the chapter. Flowery pokes and prods telling him to reach for what he wants, but he feels like he can't. He can't because of the pressure of his role to be the prince. He feels like he is nothing more than that. Nothing more than a darkner. Not to mention, I don't think he was ever supposed to take off the cloak we see him in at the start of chapter 1. This is based on his prophecy panel, so theirs a chance this isn't true.
Now talking about Kris, as I said before they are stuck between two roles. The prophecy just shows them as a vessel. The only thing they will amount to is a cage that is doomed to be discarded. At the same time, they are the knight's ally. They open dark fountains, aiding in several people getting kidnapped. They care about their friends so much, but are pulled in primarily two directions. Both of these making them disconnected from their friends. Not to mention, the stuff with Carol making them even more isolated.
Last but certainly not least, Noelle. I haven't talked about her before this point, and their isn't too much to work with outside of the weird route. (at least from what I remember/could see) Despite that, I wanted to talk about her. Her section will probably be the shortest. Noelle is stuck as this girl who has to be perfect. She has to be the perfect daughter, student, friend, etc. She is boiled down to this perfect girl. If the final panel, at last was the girl, is Noelle, in the eyes of the prophecy the girl is just a girl. A Noelle is just a Noelle after all.
These characters are forced to fit into roles assigned to them by the prophecy and/or the people around them. I could talk a lot more about the idea of playing a role than I have here, but that might be for another time. The way I see it, these roles are keeping them chained to the prophecy. To break the prophecy, they need to break these roles. They can't do that alone. They are only starting to break past their assigned parts now with the support each get from each other. Such as Noelle being brave enough to ask Susie on a date and Ralsei becoming his own person. With the everything, will they be able to break past these roles? Will Susie be able to take the pen of hope and become the person she wants to be? Will Ralsei be able to become more than just a Prince in the dark and go after what he wants? Will Noelle stay as just the perfect girl or will she allow herself to be free from the persona she keeps? Will Kris allow themselves to be nothing more than a cage or tool or will they allow their friends, and themselves, to be free from their imprisonment?
Whether or not they can break the prophecy depends on them supporting each other and believing in better future. Flowery's entire final confrontation is him saying look my friendship is stronger than the fun gangs. Intentionally or not, all of them are playing the part the prophecy wants them too. With things starting to shift and roles to play, will their friendship be strong enough to free each other and themselves from fate?
