Perhaps he should have expected that mistrusting response from Leo at first. After all, Berdly rarely ever apologized for his actions. He was fully aware of that. But something about those words the last time they spoke kept prodding at him and wouldn’t stop prodding. For the past while, he had begun to reconsider his actions and feelings when he blew up on other kid, when Berdly was the one who bumped into him in the first place.

“Oh, don’t be ridiculous.” Despite his apology, he was still rather shaky on not sounding condescending to other people. “You can’t knock a concept into people. Joke or not, such a thought is... Uh...” He faltered. Berdly caught himself before he could say any more. Sure, they were at school and Leo was less likely to make a scene, but he didn’t come here to fight again. 

The bird monster had been exceptionally proud of himself today. His most recent assignment was finished, and perfect, and had been completed fairly early in addition, so he didn’t have to deal with yet another all-nighter.

Now all he needed to do was find his stapler and staple the pages together... Oh. It was out staples. No matter, there was one in the library, which thankfully was not too far away. Berdly began to walk towards the library, and as he did, he began to read over what he wrote, just to make sure everything was all right. In doing so, he didn’t realize there was someone in front of him, and promptly crashed into them. He fell. Papers flew. He looked over at the person he bumped into, the other’s face seeming familiar, but he didn’t really care.
