HER HEART IS crashing against her ribcage - sheâs sure that itâs beating can be heard even above the roar of TRAFFIC from the interstate. Itâs a beastly sort of racket, the cars zooming by endlessly, but it provides a certain ambience that promises anonymity. With so many passing by, each determined to find their destination, it is easy to go unnoticed. She supposes that might be the charm associated with such a location, especially for those who do not wish to be found. And he doesnât want to be found - that much is obvious. Itâs also obvious that she should be anywhere but HERE. Hence the pounding heart as she stands outside the door, studying the peeling paint in an effort to calm herself.Â
Like a HONEYBEE drawn to an exotic flower, she canât quite muster up the energy required to break away & forget this FOOLISH scheme - more of an obsession, really. Sheâs drawn to this unknown pollen, wondering if it might kill her, hoping that it would prove better than sheâd expected. It had started when CIA chatter had grown too loud to ignore, especially amongst more... unofficial circles, such as hers. Not her business, nor her concern, sheâd nonetheless been CAPTIVATED by the thought of Treadstone, now Blackbriar. Sheâd been horrified, intrigued, confused. And the combination of all those things had pushed her into STUDY and research - she cannot sit idly by when there is something she does not understand.Â
The events in New York, things had escalated - and amidst all the hubbub and general hysteria, sheâd managed to fly below the radar. Sheâd seemingly done the IMPOSSIBLE. Sheâd found him - at least, she thinks sheâs found him. But to what end? Sheâs not sure, she canât be sure, she just knows she needs to SEE this through. And ---- she wants to HELP. Beyond that simple phrase she has no plan, just a curiosity that will not give her peace.
She takes a deep breath, straightens her shirt for the umpteenth time, then knocks on the door.Â
