nightmareinthedaylight replied to your post “"How would you feel if I told you to read this story to your kids?" ...”
Did you just insult our children
“ I think he sure did. And after all the cookies you baked him, too.”

“ Del? Hon - what’s the air set to?” It was chilly.
The man rubs up and down his sleeved arms momentarily, as if that could do something with the lack of warmth his body felt. Dammit, this was a house, it wasn’t supposed to be the mountains of Briggs.
Hughes looks about himself for a moment before finding something; a rather large red blanket. As he reached for it it felt like a prize, like something to treasure and to cherish as you would a goldfish won in some ring toss game at a fair; for about ten minutes and then leave it up to your parents to find an aquarium to put it in and feed for you. That’s how Maes felt. Maybe the happiness wouldn’t last forever, but to him it seemed eternal. If, just for a moment.
Yet that soon dies just like that goldfish, as he tosses the blanket behind him only to find that it has covered only a quarter of the long, serpentine tail that had taken residence over the lower half of his body.
“ Hon. I need help.”
"Maes,I made a small cake, would you like some?"
“Cake?” He’s up a second later, a few seconds more and he’s in the kitchen. “When wouldn’t I?”
