“Well, this is going to be an eventful day…
—Have I something on my face that you stare at me like that, serah?”
"I thought I’d never see you again." ((Have some sister feels ^^))
“Nor I you. I could scarcely believe it when Samuel said you were alive and… married.” After all that had happened since he returned from the Free Marches he had almost been unwilling to accept the groundskeeper’s words as the truth, what with the rest of his family dead. And yet here Delilah stood before him, practically glowing with health and happiness. It was the first time he’d felt relief since he’d come back to Amaranthine.
Burn the Past ★ Delilah
It was activities like this that gave the Wardens a bad name, but where else were they supposed to go after they were dismissed from their posts and were not required for anything? None had homes to return to, as most were not native to Kirkwall. They had houses yes, but in Fergus' case it wasn't a home. He had very little love for Kirkwall, as there was nothing in it that he could relate to nor that he could come to claim as his own. Everything that he had come to love had been destroyed, and finding anything relatively similar was a challenge.
And thus, he settled himself in the Hanged Man. Again. His love for alcohol was no secret, but it was no virtue of his either.
A booming laugh sounded amongst a series of groans from one of the tables where a game of cards was being played, and with his victory in a hand of poker that he tossed down his cards and pulled his winnings towards himself with a gratuitous sweep of his arm. Perhaps the disappointment from the other players had been because he had no real poker face, just better tolerance of alcohol than they all did. Obviously their judgement had been skewed in the process of their gambling, to which cost them a pretty penny or two, though he certainly wasn't complaining. In fact, Fergus took it with a sloppy salute and cashed out, finding that he had enough of petty gambling for the evening. Hopefully he didn't spend it all in one place though--read as: the bar. Though of course, that was exactly where he was headed.
Relocating from the chair to the bar's side, Fergus made himself comfortable and slapped down a few bills in advance to pay for his tab, then proceeded to order anew. He was due for a celebratory tumbler of whiskey.
