Hope. It wasn't something that Mai really thought of often, not because she lacked any, but because she didn't focus on the positives as much as others. But still, the sardonic girl had her own hopes and dreams. They were simple and realistic, as most things she thought of were.
And all that hope she managed stemmed from one person, the only one who ever made her really care. He managed to make her smile, if he tried, even when she was feeling particularly grey. Zuko, for Mai, was hope.
Mai cast a look up, repressing a small smile, yet keeping her lips sealed. No one needed to know what she thought.
