She sighed, giving him an unimpressed look as she brushed a stray strand of blonde curls behind her ear again. “I could get up and leave you know.” Her expression stayed for a minute before falling and she reached up to massage her temples. “I’m sorry I’m just… I’ve just gotten off work for the day and my day was particularly stressful and I didn’t enjoy it much.” She reached for the purse hanging across her body and pulled out a hundred dollar bill, sliding it across the bar towards him with a smile. “Give me whatever is the best out of your whiskey stash on the wall there.” She gestured at the whiskey bottles flippantly. “And lend me your ear for a bit. With or without the rest of you its your preference. You don’t have to listen I just need someone to talk to and I’m afraid I have no friends.” She put her chin back in her hand. “That and I love your eyes. I’d like to look at them more.”
“You could.” It wasn’t as if he was going to beg her to stay; as bored as he was, he had more self-respect than that. “I wouldn’t stop you; it was your choice to come here in the first place, you know.”
He placed down the glass after that, shrugging. “I guess that explains why you’re in a bar. You aren’t the first person to come here because of a bad day, and you probably won’t be the last, either.” It was never particularly fun to interact with the irritable bastards that showed up, looking for alcohol and perhaps a fight, but in comparison to some of the people he had dealt with in the past, she was significantly more polite- something that Judal was actually relatively appreciative of.
“Let me see what I can find.” He said, taking the money and turning around to look at the bottles, garnet eyes sweeping across labels. “I’ll listen to whatever you have to say; I actually find it kind of interesting to listen to people.” Most of the time, anyways; sometimes they were just downright whiny and obnoxious, but Judal was a curious sort by nature, and poking his nose into the business of others had always been entertaining to him.
