idk why my sibling is obsessed with bringing me down and reminding me about dumb things i used to do or like! they do this every time i want to talk about something good that happened to me, or when i want to talk in general lol
like okay bitch i listen to you all the time and try to be sympathetic&uplifting when you need it; you don’t hear me bringing up dumb shit you did as a kid or stupid things you used to like! i don’t purposely go out of my way to make you feel embarrassed about the things you like!
idk why i waste my time! i’ve worked hard to be kinder and more understanding towards my sibling (and my other sister, but she doesn’t live with me so it’s a long distance effort) because i was a shitty older sister in our childhood and i want to make up for it. i don’t expect us to ever be buddy-buddy or close, i just want to be able to have a civil conversation and be able to tolerate each other when we’re around our mom.
it’s a one-way street, i guess. i’m doing all the work and i’m not getting ANYTHING in return. i know they’re not obligated to, like....even care, but it’s exhausting when we live together and they’re constantly dragging me down because they think it’s funny to embarrass me or whatever.
