I haven't watched any of s3 of Carmilla yet because I've been overseas with bad wifi. So to keep myself from going insane I watch the trailer every few days and it still makes me emotional hearing Carmilla lay out Laura's flaws while telling her it's beautiful the way she tries. Because it's like she's saying "I see you flaws and all and I love you". I'm not sure entirely how the scene plays out (I try and scroll past any spoilers quickly), but that's the kind of love I want to see. Not someone saying "you're perfect. I love you" because that's not real, that won't last. But, someone saying "you're not perfect but I love you for all you are". That's real love, and it's the kind that lasts. When you see someone flaws and all and still love them? When it makes your love for them even deeper? That's beautiful and something we rarely see in the media. It's mostly "I love you because I think you're perfect" and this sets up this idea that you have to meet some standard to be loved. Carmilla and Laura are such great characters and such a great love story because their imperfections are so clear to us and by the end of s2 have become so clear to each other. But we love them for the whole package and they love each other for the whole package as well. I know I'm so far behind on the show, but I just needed to share and I can't wait to see how it all unfolds in a week when I return home and can watch
