"Look, I have to ask something," Julian says, walking with Dejuan amongst the palace gardens. Dejuan was quite sure Julian rarely had interest in him, but the two got along perfectly well; indeed, it seemed to Dejuan that he was one of the people Julian got along with best.
"Oh, what is it?" Dejuan wonders, at a loss for whatever it might be. He and Julian had hardly spoken enough for there to be anything of much depth to be spoken about.
"Have you and Hisoka ever dated?"
Dejuan makes a variation of stammers for a moment, everything incomprehensible, before eventually landing on, "Of course we haven't! Why, where would our common ground be?" Dejuan feels no need to add on that Hisoka is a man; not only because Julian spoke completely aware of that, but because he was sure Julian knew about him and Valentino in some foreign, distant way, and so any points made on the subject would be void.
"I'm afraid I don't know enough about you to answer that," Julian replies, and hardly anybody knows about Dejuan, really, as a person, so this response was logical.
"He thinks that I am boring," Dejuan replies. Julian and Hisoka are somewhat lifelong partners from what Dejuan had gathered, so the question was not unprompted. Dejuan feels no need to ask why Julian asked.
"Perhaps, but he likes you, which is rare. And I like you. You are what Everado would be if Everado were more like me, and I need not explain why I find that compelling." He pauses, then, "We don't speak enough, do we, dear heart? Come over for dinner one day and enchant us with your intellects. I see too much of Hisoka, and your lack of being influenced by his attitude is hilarious."
