October Chills
It's nearly 3 years ago, There's an October chill in the air, And a Plethora of flying excitement, The familiars and i getting ready to ridicule our livers, by the bar dressed in the freshest threads purchased that day, We became the nista's at night, Transparent liquid fire shots took flight down gullets, As a sea of fades mohawks and mullets sway through the waves of bass and treble, reveling in the primal attachment to the opposite, the music plays, my mind waves as eyes scan physiques and torso's, Heated bodies bump and grind to the beats on the dance floor, 2nd bottle in i'm lost right now, battling urges to set flame to the past, as my tongue dances with an old ember of my heart, Looking back, tonight was all down hill from the start, Where was I? 3rd Bottle down and amidst a sea of smiles and frowns, frocks jeans and gowns the House sounds took control, weaving melodies hypnotizing my energy into drunken appreciation, Black Coffee and Bucie rifts deeper the grip transforms the face i'm making..... You know that 2 finger gun salute, as soles boot the linoleum, As if in my mind i'm dancing alone in the middle of a Colosseum Emperorish temperament led to the next set of sentences to sound like a cheddarish line like "Looking at you i know where Heaven went" or "Can I buy you a drink" whilst carefully counting up the money i'd spent, 5th Bottle down and amidst the crowd i heard the sound of my name, dragged to the back where it was revealed that a friend lacked the faculty of mind to remain tame, quickly acquiring a couple drips of water for her to sip in the hope that the alcoholic dragon in her belly would be slain Slain it was I helped her up, she gave me a hug and i was off, back in the sea of bodies Crashing liquor against Enamel rocks, entranced by the music's siren sound, like sand under my feet my footsteps became coarse, as the direction of my steps led me to the shores of my brandy induced wave, but my islands, those with a familiar face, weren't in sight, confusion drifting i took steps to a familiar place, anxiety quickly evolved into a fanatical rage, The scene was set and yet all felt so surreal, my gut told me that this deeper feel, wasn't unfounded, a few moments passed, and then i was surrounded by the faces i sought, one was missing so of course i inquired, was told to make haste to the hospital on the way pray God doesn't call back our sister, and like that i was off, the gravity of the situation weighed down on my Atlas shoulders, as fatigue made my pace slower and slower, nausea took residence in my throat lumps felt like boulders, the morning that much colder, waves of emotions brought me back to sober, It was in the dying embers of the night that my Sister took flight, All i remember was seeing the Sunrise spark the new day, It was then that i knew some how some way she was still watching, Still does to this day so in every laugh and tear, I'm comforted for i know she remains near, But if I could i would trade my life because Angels like her are needed to remain here
Cigars, Salsa and Sterling Silver
I had a conversation with my uncle at a Wedding and it was then that he told me about his love for his woman, my Aunt. He spoke with the same excitement of a teenager and i could see all the years of Love and Strife unfold in his narration. I created this piece for them, he gave it it's title I hope you enjoy. I fell in love with the sound of joy bursting from her lungs, The seismic rattling of her ribs, Coupled with blood blocked veins, each one creasing her skin with lightning shaped vessels, A torrent of tears would usually follow as her mascara would drip, But for all the right reasons, Its a hearty laugh that makes me reminisce of dances to Salsa and Samba, Cardiac thumps mixed with cigar smoke and a raw fiery taste of tequila tantalized and tranced, I've always been entranced by the feel of her skin, Like smooth chocolate silk, heat permeating through her pores, I would engulf even more of her aroma, Cheek to cheek our auras in sync, The sound of Chris de Burgh Lady in Red, gave me apparitions of her in my bed, We are just Rhythm and vibrations, I've given my all nothing was Vacant, The day I decided to engage her, In something more serious but even more fragrant, But don't get me wrong, interrupt the beat of her song and fury embroiled in the wrath of the 7th level of Hell will surely follow, An Amazon indeed but always my Princess Diana, I became the Superman to her Heart, But before her, In this Metropolis, I used to keep changing Lanes, How low is it that a Man must reach before he realizes the Gold in his pocket How many truly realize what they had before they lost it? Questions that have never troubled me, But always kept me aware, And in every look and every stare, I absorb the moment, our lives hang in a whisper held by a delicate thread, That for some reason is never to far away from a pair of scissors, Wounds cut deep but regret cuts deeper, If there is someone that you Love then go ahead show her, or him, Begin there, And with your own unique flair add spice and rhythm, Our greatest success, has been that the bonds we carry in our chest, will remain immortal even after rest, Relish the breaths, engulf each others fires, Evoke an energy that burns with your desires, You can't do this with any old lady or dude, So you might not get it right the first time, but you owe it you to cast colour on this painting, create the view, Because you will never know when it will be your last line, When it will be the end of your tune.
April Showers
She was riled up like an April storm, I saw her reborn that night, Come to life as I stared through those watery eyes, Peered into the depths of her soul careful not to lose footing, but in its vastness there was nothing to old, Digging deeper feeling like I shouldn't,, but somehow I had to thaw her heart of snow.
I listened to her story told, by the icy sharpness of her narration I could tell all she had known was the cold, gently trying to warm her in my aura, her own fought back, as she followed the tracks left by her tundra past,
She said it wasn't long but the memory of it certainly did last,
She can recall the smell of brandy on his breath, A raw fiery aroma that engulfed her senses and set aflame her panic through burning eyes, As his slow thrusts inflicted their damage, She could barely manage to breathe as his Atlas weight pinned down her shoulders, Lay numb until it was over, Eternity persistent in it's want to stay around, She remembered her sweat stain and then dry the ground, He dismounted her stiff body, Leaving her temple in ruins, She knew that the renovation might never happen, Like an eclipse on her joy her world was blackened, Living in an eternal night ever since,
What of home I asked, for a millisecond I saw her defenses become glass, Her resolve transformed it back to stone, She said you know, After that night I thought of going home, Approached my door, even knew there were keys hiding under the mat on the floor, But between being raped on an alley street, To admitting defeat to a Mother who would rather seek,
Tears instead of smiles on her child’s cheek,
She Sharply uttered through an iron tone,
not a day before her and death meet,
The rhythmic hum of Big Ben broke the silence,
The previous flood of Black Cabs dwindling to a stream,
Her eyes scanned my face reading my expressions,
Trying to trace the familiar wrinkles of judgement that so often creep,
She found none,
and as swiftly as she had come,
Change in palm, she decided it was her time to leave,
Before she left she said Through the Darkness she sees the light at its best,
Understands that there’s good even if she hasn't seen it yet,
