I think Degenbrecher’s birthday line isn’t about her dedication to strength, it’s about how the past is so unimportant to her compared to the present she is enjoying so much — being Kjeragi, midst people that accept her, love her, and are willing to stand up for her as much as they are to rely on her — that her entire identity prior to her current title is worthless. Had she taken another name after Degenbrecher when she arrived in Kjerag, that’s likely what she’s consider her name and date of birth, this one just happens to be the latest one and the one to go with. Her punching out avalanches is recreational, her helping put puppet shows for local charity events and helping give birth to livestock are what she explicitly describes as the things that make her feel at home and happy to be there.
