Eight of Gems - Degei
Degei is a cosmic snake god of creation on Fiji. I made him in the shape of the Fiji snake, and got to show him looking in on the things he made (including people) and also the things he taught to them. He is a good representation
This was one of those cards that had a really long time in the ugly phase that I had to keep powering through, hoping it would get better.

fijian - degei, the supreme god of fiji. he judges newly dead souls after they pass through one of two caves: cibaciba or drakulu, and is said to have at first moved about freely, but then in the form of a snake to have grown into the earth with his ringed tail. since then he has become the god of earthquakes, storms, and seasons. whenever degei shakes himself fertilising rain will fall and the yam fields will yield an excellent crop. degei is also a god of wrath.

Myth: The hawk goddess Turukawa had laid two eggs before flying away. Degei wrapped around the eggs to warm and hatch them, and out came the first two humans. He taught them fire and how to cook and eat taro and yams.

He judges those who die, deciding where to send their souls.
He can cause earthquakes and floods by moving within the earth.
