Let’s learn the difference between aufladen and laden. They’re both verbs, and both sound and feel very similar to the word “load” in English.

Aufladen is typically used when talking about charging a cell phone. I think about it like “charging up”.

Laden is used often when referring to weapons, and loading them with ammunition.

Der Soldat lädt seine Waffe. “The soldier loads his weapon.”
