IT’S BEEN A LONG TIME. he doesn’t know exactly how long, & even if he did, he probably wouldn’t want to think about it. he is, after all, a slave to his passions -- a slave to the wanderlust that courses through his veins, permeating his body more thoroughly than his own blood manages to often times. the notion that said wanderlust has actual repercussions isn’t something that he dares to consider under most circumstances, & under these ones least of all. 

she’s probably forgotten about him by now. he probably deserves it. 

he’s waiting for nightfall before he finds her. before he leaves the safety of the trees, at the very least, where he perches on a branch with his meager belongings all stuffed into the rucksack on his back. there’s bandanna around his neck, & the clothes he wears are durable ; dark browns & greens to blend better with his surroundings. the most striking thing about him is perhaps the red of his hair, or maybe the pale, almost silvery blue of his eyes. they are the only things that don’t blend. his only definition against his chosen backdrop. 

a piece of said hair escapes the confines of the sunglasses he’s currently got holding it back atop his head, & he pitches forward at the sound of somebody’s footfalls just below him, alarm mixing with curiosity. whoever it is, they certainly haven’t noticed him yet, & if he has any ability at all, he knows for sure that it isn’t precognition. if it were, he might’ve seen her coming.
