I bought the vinyl, Nina Simone, At Town Hall a few recent months ago. I finally listened to it yesterday and played the whole album twice. It was hauntingly beautiful. I felt like I was transported to the 1950s when it was first recorded. As if I was in the sitting in the audience of the concert hall when Nina performed.
Right after, I then played the album on Spotify. I knew once the album ended other songs by her would subsequently play right after. I went right to sleep listening to At Town Hall.
Little did I know, her birthday is today. I was not aware. Coincidence, phenomenon, or spiritual calling. I don't know. Just right on time.

Oh yeah, my birthday just passed on the 9th. I guess it just slipped my mind or I didn’t care that much to post it here? Nonetheless, I’m fulfilled. It (my birthday) was acknowledged on the days leading up to the day, along with the day itself. I had…and have…quite a few upcoming opportunities and experiences to look forward to that has only made living to see another year very meaningful. I’m very grateful for all of the major shifts this year despite everything around me (the world) smoldering.
This time of the year (as the transition to Fall) has always felt visceral for me. It’s such a powerful airy shift of cleansing, clarity, exuberance, and restart/refresh.
