Did you know there is a canon queer character in the Resident Evil franchise? Crispin Jettingham, the leader of the U.S. Special Forces team in Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, is gay! Confirmation came in 2014 from writer and creative director of the game, Adam Bullied.
Codenamed Dee-Ay, Crispin is a soldier quietly serving during the then-real world Don't Ask Don't Tell policy. His codename is an early development nod to this aspect of his character.
While his orientation is not explicitly stated in-game, Bullied showed great care in the portrayal of this heroic, queer character. Let's give it up for Capcom and developer Slant Six Games for this good queer rep 🏳️🌈🧟♂️🏳️🌈
