Sunrise Project was a delight this and every week we’ve volunteered there. On the first and third of every month our yoga family gathers to bake, prep and cook for our community through the fabulous work at @thesunriseproject Twice a month we meet new like-minded friends, people who believe in opening their hearts and serving our community. For us Seva, or selfless service, is a part of who we are as yogis. This week we handed out and delivered 250 meals and our 50 meals for our community. There is something so satisfying about seeing ingredients chopped and waiting, as well as seeing the meals in the fridge. For a few months now, I’ve seen community members who delight in supporting us as well as people who haven’t eaten in a day. That’s community. That’s the joy of why I show up to feed people week after week. We cook at Sunrise and our yoga family collects food and cooks simply to put food in the fridge. Join us. If you can help for the community meal, but if that schedule doesn’t work for you, join us to cook other times in your home or donate food so that our family can cook and share. This is our spiritual practice Off The Mat. Listen to the podcast to learn how to practice yoga beyond asana, pranayama and meditation. Yoga asks you to be the most you. How does that show up in your life? This yoga session I invite you to focus on the word Align. What does that mean to you? How are you aligning who you are mind/body/spirit? The mat is a great place to start. Join us for Slow Flow this weekend.
