The timepiece is a special thing in menswear.  I find myself turning to accessories as an excellent way to differentiate my mood, my style, and my personality.  I sub in a raw silk tie instead standard sick to provide a unique twist to the classic suiting look.  I'll lace up my oxford wingtips with a colorful patterned sock instead of a basic navy sock when I want to have a hint of bold peeking from around my ankles. A belt can do the same thing whether the shirt is tucked or not.  However, the watch, now that is a sacred thing amongst men.

I'm not a vintage watch guy, or some luxury watch connoisseur - I think you can figure that by the tone of my blog.  What I am is an explorer, an experimenter, and a confident personality looking for complements to the inner workings of my brain.  One of the newest and coolest things I've come across is a collaboration between BKLYN Dry Goods and dedegumo.   dedegumo, a Japanese watchmaker, launched it's first-ever collaboration with BKLYN Dry Goods in December 2011. The design is a fusion between the heritage of both brands, naval instruments and gauges from the vintage brand with the Japanese aesthetic.  These bad boys are Seiko movement and made to order...making them somewhat customizable and you can even add your monogram. It doesn't really get better than this in the land of unique finds.  Always happy to see who BKLYN Dry Goods partners with because the collaborations come few and far between, but they hit hard!

Yesterday, on our way to a delicious Katz sandwich, we saw a little watch store named dedegumo.  In their little store, complete with a trapdoor, we saw some beautiful, completely handmade watches.  They were gorgeous.
