Turn traditional cake pops into delectable cake pop cookies with a variety of flavors and eye-catching decorations. These bite-sized treats are ideal for parties, get-togethers, and homemade gifts.
Ingredients: 1 box of cake mix any flavor you prefer. 3 large eggs. 1/2 cup vegetable oil. 1/2 cup water. 1 cup of mix-in flavor e.g., chocolate chips, dried fruits, nuts. 1/2 cup of frosting matching the cake flavor. 2 cups of candy coating various colors. Decorative sprinkles or toppings.
Instructions: Preheat the oven to the temperature specified on the cake mix box. In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Mix until well combined. Fold in the mix-in flavor of your choice into the batter. Pour the batter into a greased baking pan and bake according to the cake mix instructions. Allow the cake to cool. Crumble the cooled cake into fine crumbs using your hands or a fork. Add the frosting to the cake crumbs and mix until the mixture becomes a dough-like consistency. Shape the dough into small cake balls and place them on a baking sheet. Chill the cake balls in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up. In the meantime, melt the candy coating in separate bowls according to the package instructions. Dip the tip of each lollipop stick into the melted candy coating and insert it into a cake ball. Let it set. Dip each cake ball into the melted candy coating, allowing excess coating to drip off. Sprinkle decorative toppings or drizzle additional melted candy coating over the cake pops. Insert the cake pops into a styrofoam block or cake pop stand to allow them to set completely. Once the coating has hardened, your unique flavored cake pop cookies are ready to be enjoyed!
