While the standard mandate still dictates a hard memory-wipe at age 13, exceptions are made for the absolute best of the best, like the case of Maurice, seen in the show but more widespread and still operating under the KND umbrella, without the duty of being disguised as rogue teenagers. Top-tier agents are offered a loophole and an opportunity to lead some branches by bypassing decommissioning and extending their service until 18.
