Measure thrice; cut once

Our deck’s rebirth in Trex is proceeding satisfactorily, if not perfectly.

There have been a few false starts, a couple of miscues, some sidetracking and a handful of weather delays.

Working with composite decking is not radically different than working with standard wood boards. I would, however, recommend measuring thrice, not twice, before cutting; the boards I’m using are 32 bucks each.

That's right everybody, we are in the midst of a big project together for a member-created deck. We are currently working on the Major Arcana and there are still some unclaimed cards.

Nailing it

Throughout our ongoing deck demo/rebuild project Sharon has employed her natural magnetism to gather all the used and useless nails and screws.

She has fished them out of the dirt, yanked them from reusable lumber and even sifted them from the ashes of our fire pit after burning the discarded boards from the old deck.
