Catching the flu real bad was a neat way to avoid Thanksgiving this year. We made some food at home while sick out of ours minds. It came out good! I made one dish with so much garlic that I think it genuinely helped me feel better. Or was it, perhaps, the cold medication? Hehehe.
I also made the most amazing sweet potato pie. We have already almost eaten the entire thing. The crust was Eh because I used the emergency pre-made pie crust that was buried in my freezer, but hey, it was there for times like these.
Something that bummed me out, however, was that both of our families seemed to not really care that we were sick. One of our friends offered to bring us a plate and leave it here, which was incredibly kind, so I am just focusing on that gesture. We didn't even need the plate, since we were still able to cook a little with what we had, but still. It bummed me out because I always set aside food for people who couldn't make it.
But eh, whatever. I'm over it as a holiday, anyways. I'm way more excited for December.
