Shadow Kirby was cuddled up between Black Dedede and Dark Meta Knight, occasionally switching between who he leaned against more as the adults did... 

Well, telling from the slight “tink”ing sounds that could only be glass tapping against glass, they were arranging the glass of the Dimensional Mirror like a puzzle to see which pieces they needed next.

The search for the Dimensional Mirror’s shards have been going on since the three of them were put back together. And while they were occasionally lucky to find a shard or two, well...

Shadow Kirby heard a sigh to his left, where Dark Meta Knight was seated.

“How much longer does this search need to go on...?” the adult Batamon asked softly, slight exasperation evident in his usual monotonous voice.

The grey puffling then heard a sound that was the most comparable to wind, but something about it was unnatural sounding. And somehow... familiar...

Telling from the lack of reaction from his fellow Mirror World natives, he was the only one that heard it.

“Oh lighten up zoy. It’s shouldn’t be too long before we can go back ho-”

Black Dedede cut himself off when a voice from outside was heard.

Wait, that voice...

“Poyo?”

“Who in the world is that?” the penguin murmured.

“Oh, that is a friend of mine,” Dark Meta Knight answered simply as he stood up, petting the child’s head as he did.

“A friend? You, the man that refuses to even talk to most people outside of passive aggressive comments, actually made one zoy?” the black bird teased.

“I am just a surprised as you are,” the knight responded.
