If after this you still have problems, try with turn down the max speed, and the per-torrent/global peer connection. Bittorrent is generating a lot of traffic and this can give some problem to you router.

Use Transmission from remote

Last after the setup you can also use the web interface you are not forced to install the Transmission Remote Gui. To access the Transmission Web Interface just go to IP.OF.YOUR.MACHINE:9091 and type in your RPC user/password. Enjoy!

Debian 7 disable X on startup
I'm setting up a little debian file server, this are just a series of pins for the future me, enjoy if you need, remember to do as root!
Disable # update-rc.d gdm3 disable After this your login screen will be only a terminal.
Enable # update-rc.d gdm3 enable This will restore the X at startup.
