Guys I went to a film festival for a screening of 'All of Us Strangers' today and I'm trying not to exaggerate but I truly genuinely think this may be the best movie I have watched in my 25 years of being alive
I cried all the way through. Like I genuinely was on the verge of tears the entire time and every 10 minutes or so something would set me off and I'd be crying again. Andrew Scott deserves an Oscar for his acting. The cinematography is gorgeous without trying to be artsy just for the sake of it. The chemistry between Andrew and Paul is absolutely insane, I've very rarely seen something like it. Their relationship is so beautifully constructed, so intimate, and the movie's take on loneliness and grief and nostalgia is so poignant and unique. It's also a movie that really feels made for queer people, I'm not even sure why but I felt like the movie didn't waste any time trying to spell things out for straight people.
On a lighter note, they also really captured the ultimate queer experience when the two of them had already been flirting back and forth for ages and Harry just went "So...you are queer, right?" like honest to god I felt so seen
episode 2x5 of our flag means death has actually rearranged my brain chemistry like I genuinely don't feel like I'm the same person I was 30 minutes ago
I know we're all like 6 years past our eyewitness phase but I did just run into james paxton on the tube so. huge win for 18-year-old me who was being SO annoying about this show <3
