Ok this one is honestly one I’m super excited about! It’s basically Billy, Max, Jonathan, Will, and El getting together like once a week to hang out and do familial/childhood activities that they didn’t get to enjoy growing up. Basically like being their own therapy.

okay so it’s a reaallyyy long fic about Billy being one of the earlier experiments, number 6.

The lab initially let his parents be involved because they’re still figuring it out and stuff, but Maria (his momma) hears about what they’re actually doing when Billy’s about five or six and flees Hawkins before they can take her son forever, hence why they don’t let Terry have any involvement by the time Jane comes around.

They’re in California, and there’s a man there who offers to help them, he gets Billy on power suppressants, but he’s also working with the lab and he sells them out. Maria is killed, and Billy and Neil just constantly move all over California to avoid lab people until he decides he’s done running and moves them back to Hawkins, not caring about what would happen to Billy if he got caught.

So now they’re in Hawkins, and Billy, who hasn’t been taking his pills because they’re in some box because of the move, keeps getting this strange sense of déjà vu from everything and it’s really bugging him. He tries to buy some more cigarettes to calm down and accidentally uses his powers, which is persuasion, (like if he commands someone to do something, they do it) on Joyce at the checkout.

From there it’s just a downwards spiral of trying to figure himself out and being pissed off with Neil. He eventually decides to try to find Jane with help from Murray’s conspiracies, and when he does finally track her down, he takes her to Pittsburgh instead of some random trucker. Thus begins his involvement in the upside down stuff!

i am ashamed to say that i looked up “dacre montgomery feet” after i read this. but thats besides the point.

i imagine this happens post starcourt. the kids are playing a very intense game of dnd, and billy’s stuck with them to watch max (and because he somehow got integrated into the party). hes lounging on the couch, feet up on the coffee table (he always sits like this. so they’ve ALL realized how fucking big this dude’s feet are.) eleven, out of pure curiosity, just straight-up asks him, “why are your feet so big?”

and everyone IMMEDIATELY goes silent. like the kids were yelling at each other 2 minutes ago- and now its dead-silent. because they all barely talk to billy. they’re kinda scared of him but also just really awkward because of..everything??- he’s mostly there because max has grown attached to him and steve ‘felt bad for him’.

“what did you just say to me?”

“your feet. they’re really big,” eleven giggles, putting her feet up on table next to his- just to point out the difference in size, “like a clown.” everyone else just stares in horror. 

“she didn’t mean that-” steve begins to say but el is quick to cut him off. “no, I did! you all do! mike said ‘billy’s feet are massive!’”

lemme just tell you. mike looks like he’s about to faint. billy wiggles his toes “you guys talk about my feet a lot?”

“yeah! max said you’ll have to start buying clown shoes if they get any bigger! and steve called you Bigfoot once!” eleven responds. 

they’re all waiting for a reaction. for him to lash out or to grab el. but he just laughs- and they haven’t heard him laugh since that day he beat the hell out of steve. but this is a genuine laugh- he’s doubling over and everything. it takes him a few minutes to catch his breath, wipe the tears in his eyes. and they’re all still staring at him like wtf 😳😳😳

“I got big feet!” he announces, “and that’s a good thing, shitbirds! you know what they say about guys with big feet?”

“..they wear big shoes?” Will quietly guesses, tilting his head to the side. steve’s in the corner sweating like, pls dont violate their sweet innocent minds, and says “the bigger your feet, the smarter you are..”

billy starts laughing at steve’s answer again- they’re all still terrified. eleven seems exceptionally amused.

PFFFT Ask and ye shall receive, LOL!  <3 <3 <3

“Oh my god,” Billy groaned, laughing harder.  “Are you afraid to leave me alone now?  What if I try and eat my surfboard?”

“...are you gonna?” 

“Maybe?!” Billy told him, then pushed himself up, frowning around to look for it.

“I’ve got it, it’s right here,” the smug asshole told him, waggling the surfboard in the water.  “Want me to take you back to shore?”

“No!” Billy laughed, sighing.  “I’m going surfing, just because I nearly died making an ass of myself doesn’t mean—”

“Hrm, maybe I should keep an eye on you.”

This is a WIP, but I am SO HOOKED already.

No one writes cars as well as @deardmvz and since Lenore (Billy’s Camaro, name courtesy of @lemonlovely‘s fic Words Left Unsaid, which I ALSO recommend) is one of my favorite characters*, and this story heavily features cars ... I couldn’t NOT rec this.

So the premise is, Steve knows cars. And he’s a very good racer. Billy THINKS he knows cars, and he THINKS he’s a good racer. They race. Steve wins. And Billy’s suddenly Steve’s bitch for a week.

Billy’s ... not having a great time in the first couple of chapters of this fic (which is another reason why I’m hooked because my whumper heart goes pitter-patter), but I know for certain that things will start to look up, soon.

Either way, this one’s got King Steve back on the throne, and Billy being brought down a couple of pegs. Kegs? Basically, he’s brought down to the ground and then ground into it, the poor dear.

And poor, poor Lenore. She’s so abused in this. (But I have extracted a promise that she’s going to be alright!)
