Dear Archy, hope everything is going fine! I'm from Italy and currently locked up at home due to the virus, but university is still up and I need a bit of advice! This year we're designing an hotel at the top of a steep quarry, in the mountains, something like the hotel concept by Andrii Rozhko. Got any interesting suggestions? Our basic concept is that of the "crystal" so we wanted to shape the hotel and attached bivouacs like crystals... thank you so much, it's always a pleasure readin you!
First off, to all my brothers and sisters in Italy, I hope things get better soon.

Can you give us examples of Neo-Gothic buildings, please?
Here are some examples of Gothic Revival aka NeoGothic buildings from the 20th century:

Everyone,
hope this message finds you well, and healthy, with COVID-19 impacting everyone around the world I feel a bit lost, frustrated and helpless. Most of life’s activities are still going on for me, like we are all in a deep state of denial, just waiting for the inevitable nationwide quarantine. While China seems to be bouncing back from the initial outbreak, Italy seems to be in the midst of the worst of it, and in the US we are destined to have the worst kind of proof of the governments inability to lead (here’s hoping they prove me wrong).
So a big virtual hug to all, take care everyone, we are all together in this.

Hi, i recived a task of creating a space (could be anything) that focuses on light and shadow. Are there any examples? Im lost...
If you are lost, start simple, look for projects that focus on deliberate use of materials and forms, check out these examples:
Church of the Light Tadao Ando
Heey I'm an architecture college student and I'm taking some interest in paisagism (gardening, idk if that's the name), lush gardens and forests and maaaybe dreaming about opportunities of helping restore natural forests and such designing lush landscapes w/ quiet camp lairs like those out of fantasy games and all, and may I ask do you know abt places with giant parks and natural landscapes designed by architects/paisagists so I can have insp/visit someday? Idk if this ask makes any sense but
Check out the work of two very different landscape design firms below.
Also, check out these previous landscape architecture projects featured on ARCHatlas.
Do you know if really good photography focused books on African architecture? Country specific or by continent as a whole would be cool.
I am not as well verse as I would like on the subject, but some time ago I featured the book African Modernism: The Architecture of Independence. Ghana, Senegal, Cote d'Ivoire, Kenya, Zambia on the blog.
