Dean and Michael arenât a couple. They donât hold hands, or kiss in public, or go on dates. Theyâre just friends. Not even that, really: they met through Michaelâs brother, and they travel in the same circles, so they end up at the same things relatively often. But theyâre far from being besties.
Neither can really put their finger on how the whole thing started, and itâs something they keep to themselves. They wouldnât even know how to explain it if they tried. But more often than not, Dean finds himself over at Michaelâs, curled up to him in the dark, private space of Michaelâs bedroom as his cat purrs contentedly from the foot of the bed.
Sometimes they have sex. Sometimes they share leisurely kisses as the sun slowly creeps over the horizon. But whether they do anything, or simply sleep, theyâre both always there when the other needs someone to remind them that sometimes itâs better not to be alone.
