Kingsley Shaklebolt’s patronus came out of nowhere, causing a few people to gasp or scream.

“ The ministry has fallen. Scrimgeour is dead. They are coming.”

Right after the words left the lynx’s mouth, figures cloaked in black appeared and began attacking. Fred grabbed your hand, trying to pull you behind him, “ (Y/N) run!” he yelled.

He let go of your hand and ran off into battle, guests began running into you, shoving you aside when a loud explosion issued.

It was as if someone had shoved cotton up her ears, enclosing a deafening ring.  You saw Fred stagger back and dodge a green spell that came close, too close.

You began running, willing your legs to move faster. Your wand was inside the Burrow so you grabbed a disregarded one off the ground.  “ Fred!” you screamed.

You grabbed the wand and deflected the spell coming toward him. You looked up to see who had attacked him and felt rage pool in your stomach, “ Mother stop!” you shouted.

Your mother sneered, “ I shouldn’t be surprised,” she spat, “, to see a blood traitor Hufflepuff  like yourself here.” The way she said Hufflepuff threw you back to the Howler you had gotten, and a ginger-headed boy coming up to you and making you laugh through your tears.

You bit your lip, trying not to let your sadness overcome your courage, “ Don’t you see this is wrong?!” you asked desperately, “ These are innocent people, leave them be!”

She scoffed, “ Move girl, or I’ll finish you off too!”

You felt tears pool in your eyes, “ Was there ever a time,” you began, allowing a few tears to make their way down your cheeks, “ Was there ever a time you held the smallest bit of affection for me?” you croaked.

Your mother’s face became hard as stone, “ How could I ever love a pebble in a shoe.”

It was as if everything had gone quiet, you gripped the wand and your jaw clenched, “ Very well then.” you whispered.

you threw a curse, then a hex- flashes of color was all it became, your mother and you lost in your own battle.

“ Retreat!” someone screamed, your mother threw up a shield and vanished.

After your mother disappeared you broke down into a sobbing mess, you felt as if the whole thing was your fault. Fred had almost died because of that wretched woman, your mother had put people in danger.

Fred staggered over to you and dropped to his knees, pulling you into his chest, “ I’m so so s-s-sorry.” you cried. He squeezed you tighter, “ I’m fine my love, it’s not your fault, she didn’t even know you were here.”

“ My father was probably here too,” you whispered.

He nuzzled his face in the crook of your neck and placed soft kissed underneath your jaw, “ Shhh, you’re okay, we’re okay- your family does not define you,” he whispered, “ you’re perfect how you are because you are you.”

You sniffled, “ I think I love.”
