This handsome chap is the African Masked Weaver (Ploceus velatus). Males have several female partners, and build a succession of nests, typically 25 each season. The nests, like those of other weavers, are woven as here from reed, palm or grass. Once the female has selected a nest of her liking, she will then furnish it with soft grass and feathers.
