How I feel about this character:
Tol clumsy bean, but a good bean. I love him. He’s just a romantic soul looking for love and also looking to solve some murders. He’s great. Goodman is a good man.
Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character:
Him and Martha were super cute together. I also shipped him and Dwayne for a short time, and if him and Richard had ever met while both alive I reckon they would’ve made an interesting pair.
My favourite non-romantic relationship for this character:
Probably him and Dwayne again! I also loved his dynamic with Jack in the like one episode they shared! Though to be fair EVERYONE has a good dynamic with Jack, because he at least tries to get on with everyone. But this is getting dangerously close to me talking about why I love Jack instead of why I love Humphrey so I’ll stop.
My unpopular opinion about this character:
His romantic relationships with Camille and Martha were both fine and cute. It was cute. It wasn’t his fault everyone loved Richard and Camille and it’s not Martha’s fault she’s the reason he left.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:
I WISH HE’D MET RICHARD WHILE THEY WERE BOTH ALIVE. IT’S NOT FAIR.

I loved his friendships with Florence and Catherine. And Dwayne again, obvs.

What a question! I’m gonna just throw something out there and say... Ben Jones from Midsomer Murders.
Hey so totally random but I saw you were posting a bit about Doug Jones earlier and I've been telling this story to anyone who'll listen for years and I had run out of people, so now you too. When I was a freshman, Doug Jones came and gave a speech. And I don't really remember what he said and I was only vaguely aware of who he was at the time, but HE DID MIME. It was for less than 30 seconds but it completely blew my mind and I've been telling everyone since how cool mime actually is. It rules!
THAT’S SO COOL!!!! He seems like a nice dude, and it must have been really cool to see him in person. And I’ve never seen anyone do mime before, but I really want to because it’s such a neat art that you don’t really see anymore.
Apparently, he’s also a contortionist which sounds?? kinda terrifying??? (I’m incredibly squeamish, so double joints freak me out.) But I still kinda want to see that as well. I love his film work, and he’s such a good physical actor, which I’m sure is in part informed by his mime and contortion work. So I’m very jealous that you got to see him, and I think the Trek fandom is very lucky to have him. <333

Write Sword Dad doing what? XD
Do you know the character Wei Ling? Ying Guogong from The Rise of Ning, very minor character introduced late into the series. Long lost father of the FL.
I can actually ship Sword Master Shao with Ying Guogong. They are both equally wise, cunning, but acts majorly unserious (perhaps to catch people off guard - which may speak of a secretly cautious nature)
Wei Ling is the more hot tempered one of the two due to his background as a martial general. The best representation of Wei Ling is maybe from here 29:31 until the end of the series, 3 episodes.
I would totally want to write them together! I want to write Wei Ling the most, because I do better with the more serious types.
