The type of polyam hate i most often see is so uniquely baffling. Some people will try to claim polyamory doesn’t experience wide spread hate or societal oppression, while hate towards us it said so comfortably and in such large amounts.
The most common argument (using that word loosely) iv seen is “It never works, i had a horrible experience and im going to see all polyam people through that lens.” Which, is a blatantly insane and ignorant take. 90% of the time its the uninformed trying to be morally superior to what they deem to weird or gross. “Its just cheating” “isnt the love of one person enough?” “you just want to sleep around.”
its so exhausting to constantly correct and inform people for the crime of loving two people instead of one. Even those in your own community will deny polyamory struggles or that it has a place in being queer at all.
It wasnt that long ago that people were (and sometimes still are) excluding aro/ace individuals and denying their struggles. im hoping and begging for a queer community thats not constantly sanitizing itself and going back to the conformity so many claim to escape from
