Piper doesn't like Deacon because she seeks to tell the truth at all costs, and Deacon avoids to tell the truth at all costs. Deacon doesn’t like Piper because she is an expert at finding the truth, and he’s afraid it doesn’t matter how hard he buries the truth, she will find it anyways. But they're both great at getting the information they want.
Hancock doesn’t like Deacon because he can tell he’s a great liar, and Hancock is scared of believing a lie. Deacon doesn’t like Hancock because he’s got a near flawless bullshit detector and won’t hesitate to call out bullshit, and Deacon’s entire persona is bullshit and he relies on being believed or being ignored. But, they both enjoy sarcasm and dry exaggeration as humor, which is lying but funny.
With this being said, Deacon has a deep respect for both Piper and Hancock for being brave enough to face the truth head on and thinks them better people then him.
