 MAMA   SAYS   BE   GOOD,     says   she’s   gonna   be   gone   for   a   little   while,   she   needs   to   talk   to   some   boring   old   woman   about   boring   art   stuff,   but   she   promises   she’s   going   to   come   back.   it’s   still   ...   hard   to   be   without   her,   to   be   alone,   but   she’s   not   alone,   is   she   ??   delmah   likes   caleb.   likes   how   calm   and   warm   and   patient   he   is,   and   he   didn’t   yell   at   her   last   week   when   she   doodled   all   over   his   special   book     (   mama   had   laughed,   that   glint   in   her   eyes,   and   nudged   caleb   that   it   was   just   like   the   old   days,   whatever   that   means   ).   still.

I will cheat a little and say Raiden & Scaramouche because - while I made a chara tg. for Scara on my multi & reblogged fanart for both of them - it never went beyond this.

I find both of them to be incredibly interesting characters and they really fit the profile of the characters I have a tendency to pick up ! ( the traumatized ones LOL )

He saw her coming, of course. Maybe not as soon as he should have

It has been a last busy, BLOODY WEEK for the Adeptus. He has just come back from a PURGE — which is how he'd come to refer the uninterrupted killing cleasing sprees he went on, occasionally, whenever a particularly strong wave of CORRUPTION hit the land. It could take between a few days to a couple of weeks - sometimes months, during which he'd hunt the land day && night for the anger of OLD, DEAD GODS given CLAWS && TEETH.

― after a good purge, [ K A R M A ] always sticks to his skin like sweat.

It drips from his BONES, pollutes his ( otherwise sharp ) senses & forces him into a few days of rest.

So here he is - gracing the capital's grounds again, hidden in the shadows, away from the common eye, from the noises and the attention - but here nonetheless.

But as much as he doesn't want to be noticed - there's a few set of eyes, every few centuries, who take an interest in him.

It's been the case, recently. More people than usual, frankly - probably because his master has settled amongst the common folk & forged ties with them. She's one of those.

He saw her coming, but he lets her. Not very keen on physical contact, he is ; ― never has been. Recently, however, he hasn't been as STRICT with his boundaries.

She's strange, that one. Perhaps the strangest he has gotten to meet recently. He wonders where Rex Lapis found her, && why he's so fond of her.

the sounds of the fire crackling from the hearth is almost soothing.  basking in the soft warmth of afterglow, ella rests her head on folded hands, covered from the waist down by the cotton of the bedsheets. for the first time in years, she almost feels at peace. there’s no immediate urge to run away, to panic and wonder if any of this will last longer than just these few moments. the calm that flows through her is nothing short of comforting, paired with the shifting frame of  @dcvrsthrn​  beside her as they carefully draw fingers along the dips of her back. a smile quickly spreads from each corner of her lips, a soft hum escaping her lips as she trains her focus on how gentle they touch her, as though something about me may break or fall apart. she is not as fragile as she once was.

cassandra still hasn’t gotten entirely used to her sister being awake ,  if she is entirely honest .  and she tries to leave vesper​ alone for the most part  --  makes sure that vesper has the time and space she needs to heal .  cassandra . . . cassandra doesn’t need that .  cassandra is fine .  cassandra has paperwork to do ,  thank you very much .
