when I first saw the og post, I was like wow. usually when I see posts like "who would fit (gorgeous accessory/outfit/hairstyle/etc. you get my point rights) ?" and someone says "omg xxx would" , I would agree because like I see it ! but also, I can't quite visualise it ? anyways, my point is, when I first saw the og post, I was like wow, I see it. like I see it. so then I was like ohhhhh okay yeah i'm going to draw. which was kinda insane to me cause I have a thing where I don't like drawing fanart, but it seems there's a loophole where if it's just the eyes or genderbent, it seems like I'm okay with it !?

to be more specific, I didn't immediately pick up my pen the moment I saw the post but I remember going wow okay despite how I feel about fanart and knowing I won't finish it ever, I know i'm going to draw this. and then the post didn't leave my head for a few days and finally I have in and rushed to open my canvas before my brain caught up to what I was doing and took away the rush of motivation !

ahem also so like if you saw the date on the og post, you would realise that it took me nearly 3 months to finish this piece (is it actually finished ? i'm still debating ...) ! and that's because I would lose steam and stop working on it for weeks before coming back to for a bit to work on some parts. I would jump around cause I got frustrated easily; when I couldn't figure out the arms I went to the legs then the necklace then the eyes then the hand then the shoes then the-

so anyways this piece kept challenging me lots ! the most obvious challenge perhaps being the folds on the dress! it looks nothing like the og ref and i've come to accept that. idk what i'm doing but i've let it go :nod: <- there should be emojis in tumblr, i'm lazy to search up nodding emoji on my laptop !! and then I was like hey just the dress is kinda boring so I was like okay i'm gonna add some nice shoes and then I did and it was soooo hard to get it the way I wanted it. it was so hard that I still haven't gotten it yet. but isoka i'm mostly satisfied with how it is rn ! and the necklace is there cause I got bored and frustrated and wanted something easy to freestyle yups

I find the anatomy to be so whacky !!! however it could've been worse ! because I took a break from this piece to draw my other fem gen piece and I kinda learnt (? not exactly learnt but also learnt ig?) a little bit on how to connect the arms to the torso, I managed to fix smth that was bothering me. oh but I got lazy so the shading looks like that :cat grinning: and in the same vein of learning from that piece, I also used the same way of drawing the face ! it was nice having some direction and understanding of how I wanted the face drawing process to be like :DD so I guess the lesson is that taking breaks help! the hair however did not benefit much from the break. I didn't want the same style (?) I did and wasn't sure how to do it again anyways so I just changed it up again ...

moving on ! I think I mentioned a couple times in my previous post that I mix my colours or whatever idk i'm bad at explaining stuff (surprise !) and so what i'm trying to get at is I'll first choose a colour (base colour) and then lower the opacity of my other colours (hair colour, skin colour, clothes, etc.) to get the final colours i'll then use for the piece. the intention is that this way the final piece will blend (?????) in well with the background colours but it has not gone as intended so far !!! I always end up adjusting the final colours used too much and the background / base colours always end up looking too bright. so. the one on the left is the og background colour and the one on the right is just a colour I fooled around and felt worked better ...

ohmygod on the topic of backgrounds. I wanted to draw a proper background !!! like it was supposed to be a bar / casino ... yk that scene in s4 where they were gambling and wearing fancy clothes ...... I tried and was like wow I really don't know what i'm doing and I don't feel like learning so ! I proceeded to fool around with some patterns and was like wow this is not it either and went back to solid colours.

i feel like my yappings has been kinda negative so far but overall, I quite like this piece !! I worked hard on it and had fun despite the struggles (or perhaps the struggles was part of the fun ?!) I feel that it could be better but also, I've been looking forward to finishing it and I think i'm ready to let it out so ! Yippeee !! >U< wait also can I just say (ofc I can). the hands / fingers took me sosososo long. I can't believe it worked out in the end !!!! however I fear that if I look at it too long it'll start looking off again so i'll stay ignorant and pleased with myself for now

i might fix whatever I want to next time but for now i'm done !
