The Most Important Thing To Do on Your DCP
I will never be able to stress it enough; the importance of this thing. I never thought of it before I left, at least not specifically. And you will think that I am crazy for stressing it because it is unavoidable in today's society, especially while at Disney. But I cannot stress it enough. Take pictures. Take hundreds of them, thousands of them! Bring home so many that it takes all year to sort through them. Love so many of them that you can't possibly narrow them down to a printable amount. Save the photopass photos. Download the photos your friends tag you in. And keep. Taking. Photos. Because one day, the photo you take will be the last photo of your Disney College Program. You may or may not know it. But it will happen. And the time will come when you must go back to your life before Disney. Except there is no going back to your life before Disney. Sure, you can go back to your university, work the same job, see your same friends, but you will have nights when you miss your Disney family so badly you cannot breath. When you cling to your stuffed it's a small world hippo because it's the closest thing you have to the Magic Kingdom. Those nights will come, and these photos, the ones of the greatest people you ever met and the greatest place you will ever know, those are the photos that will ease the pain. They will make you laugh and smile and remember how much you love the people in the photos and how wonderful of a day it was when you took that picture. And that is what you will need. So do it. Take 10,000 photos. Document everything. Dedicate an entire Instagram account to them. You can certainly erase the photo later, but you cannot recapture a memory. And trust me, you are going to want to relive every memory.
