I need more baby daddy Jason. Maybe sitting at the park watching him with ur kids and hearing the other moms ogling over him
yall dangerously feeding my brain rot and it's giving me a baby fever i do not wish to feed !!!!!!!!!!! but whoever says baby daddy jason you have my heart rn bc i adore that man!!!!!!!!!!!
by the end of the week it was already time for your kids to go out and have a pretty day at the park, jason had been really busy lately so you took the stroller and placed your babygirl on it before calling your boy, living copy of jason when he was a kid and you couldn't want it any other way because both of your babies had those pretty emerald eyes you so adored.
the way to the park was easy, those two kids had a way to be pretty little angels when it came to go out to the park and you loved that because jason would usually catch up with you sometimes when the work was too much and today was one of those days. your little boy was six and your little girl four, which made it a bit hard to have him playing around and keeping an eye on your babygirl but as soon as jason joined you it was time for the girl to also leave your arms.
jason has been an amazing dad, always making sure his kids and girl were just fine, that they had everything they could ever need and want and it was easy to see in the way the little girl giggles loudly when he sweeps her out of your arms and walks to the playground while you sit, keeping an eye on your son and it's easy to hear the small group of moms muttering and giggling close to where you're sitting.
"do you think he's single? maybe divorced... he just came and picked up the girl from her arms" one of the women says and you roll your eyes because you know how damn well jason looks and how easy it is for him to trigger a baby fever in anyone but the small pang of possessiveness and jealousy that stirs in your chest is there.
"he didn't kissed her, i bet she is the kids' mom but they're not together... i should try and get his number," oh, over your damn dead body anyone would even dare to try and getting jason's number but you know better so you sit, looking at your family with a fond smile because now your two kids are held by jason.
you look at him and you can tell he's been working out more recently because he seems fitter, a little less of that dad body he had gotten since your second child was born and you loved how he looked, broad and muscly but there was a little tummy that only made you drool even more for the father of your kids.
you had to endure the comments and ogling from that group of moms for at least half an hour until you decided you had enough. walking over the place where jason was playing with the kids you stood close, looking at him with a smile when he lifted his head to glance at you and the glint on his eyes made you heart flutter, he picked up the kids on his arms and strode towards you with the widest smile ever amd without saying anything else he leaned in to press a tender kiss on your lips.
"hey there, ma," he whispered still close to your face "i missed you..." the words never fail to make your whole body shudder as you stand in front of the love of your life because that's what jason was, flaws and everything he was everything you could ever want.
"missed you too, jaybird... mind if we take the kids for ice cream?" you ask with a soft tone and it's easy for him to notice what's going on when you don't even pull away but stand even closer while looking up at him like a lovestruck teen again.
that's when jason gently places your girl in the stroller and wraps his free arm around your waist before he peppers a few kisses on your neck earning a chuckle from you and a soft 'yuck' from your boy's lips.
"daddy! stop kissing mommy! let's go for ice cream" and the childish protest makes jason smirk, knowing now he had yet to deal with a whole bunch of spoiled babies instead of just you but he wouldn't have it any other way and like that, with his arm still around your waist jason makes the way to get ice cream and you can satisfiedly feel the disappointment in the group of moms that were shamelessly planing to hit on jason.

A/N: Though it's been awhile, I still have my layout for the plot points I want to hit and make sure happen within the final few chapters of this part in the series. This chapter has been super fun for me to write though, and I'm excited for all the characters that are being introduced! It's been hard trying to fit all the info into the last four chapters which is why it's taken so long.
âWoahâŠâ stunned into silence, your eyes trail up the giant woman before you.
âItâs a pleasure to meet you, Iâm Koriandâr.â Met with green eyes, you canât help but stare in utter astonishment and amazement. Not only is she orange-skinned, but she has neon green eyes, super long flowing reddish hair, and is tall⊠but sheâs also super toned. âIs⊠there something wrong?â She looks to Dick who stands beside her, a hand on the small of her back.
As Dick opens his mouth to speak on your behalf, you beat him to it. âLike the seed?â Though you'd attempted to make a joke on behalf of her name in an attempt to ease things, an awkwardness settles in the air before you speak again. âI-I just⊠havenât met anyone like you before,â you mutter, still in a daze. With a shake of your head, you try to gather yourself. âYouâre so tall⊠and pretty.â
A chuckle leaves her lips and her perplexed expression quickly turns into a smile. âThank you,â she says your name and places a warm hand on your shoulder, âI believe I owe you a congratulations for surviving another revolution around the sun?â
âI-itâs 'Happy Birthday', Kori,â Dick reminds her, an amused and somewhat flustered look appearing on his face. A hand comes up to the back of his neck to rub at it. "Though, I suppose that's also not technically wrong," he mumbles to himself.
âHappy Birthday, then,â she repeats, eyes sincere as she returns your smile. After a moment she spots something behind you, as she suddenly squeals out an âooh!â before taking off. Both you and Dick watch as she examines and plays with a spiral straw within one of the colorful cups adorning a nearby table.
âOh!â Dick calls your name again, tearing your attention away from the confusing sight youâd been observing. âThese are my friends, Gar, and Rachel,â he introduces, patting them on the shoulders. âNo Victor?â
âHe⊠didnât think this was the best place, you know, pool partyânot to mention he got called off to Mogo with-â Rachel whispers to Dick, though your attention is more drawn to their hair.
âItâs actually Garfield, but my friends call me Gar,â he extends a hand, to which you happily shake. âI hear itâs your birthday? How old are you turning?â
With a nod, you reply. âSixteen.â
âOh, boy! I remember those days,â Gar announces with a laugh, his arms stretching upward before one of them comes down to wrap around Rachelâs shoulder. âWhat a time.â Dick departs the conversation with a small wave in your direction as he walks toward Kori.
âHeh, yeah. Crazy⊠thatâs for sure,â Rachel comments, her eyes only register you then when they turn from Gar onto you. Theyâre purple. âHappy Birthday! Itâs nice to finally meet you, Iâm Rachel. I hope itâs okay Dick invited us. We left your present on the present table. We werenât really sure what youâd like-â
â-Had no clue, in fact!â Gar comments.
â-but we left a gift receipt in case you donât. I know we just met, but Dick mentioned you guys didnât get off on the best foot, and⊠I just want you to know that if you ever need someone to talk to, Iâm here for you.â Raven finishes. One of her hands wrapping itself around the elbow of her other arm.
âYeah, Dick can totally be a--well--you know, a dick sometimes,â Gar jokes. âSeriously though. He means well, but it just takes time to get used to him.â
âThank you so much. You⊠didnât have to get me anything, but thank you⊠and it means a lot,â you respond, an appreciative smile on your lips as you place a friendly hand on her shoulder. âI love your guysâ hair by the way, super cool.â
âHey, thanks!â Gar speaks, while Rachel simply smiles appreciatively.
ââââ
Though your Father, Alfred, Jason, and Dick kept pestering you about your upcoming birthday for the weeks leading up to it, you canât deny that the scene before you does anything but warm your heart.
The man you now know as âUncleâ Clarkâeven if you donât entirely feel quite comfortable enough to call him that yetâflips burgers on the grill making idle conversation with your Father. The usually prim and proper infamous Gothamite Playboy is nursing a beer in his hand, and for once, is actually dressed in what youâd classify as something fatherly. Sunglasses sit on the top of his quaffed hair, a playful blue short-sleeve button-up adorned with flamingoes screams the theme of todayâs party.
Youâd always wanted one as a kid, and while some had them at the local community ones, you never got the chance to. Now, with your own indoor and outdoors⊠a pool party was perfectly within the realm of grasp when Alfred asked what kind of party youâd wanted.
The butler had taken it upon himself to make the cucumber sandwiches that youâd discovered you actually enjoy this Independence Day when heâd made them. Much to the boyâs chagrin, you might add. Nevertheless, when youâd spotted them earlier in the kitchen, youâd given the older man a hug and smile, thanking him. Now he takes a break as he sits at the patio table in a high chair sipping at some fruity drink with a twisty straw, a little umbrella toothpick punctured into a piece of pineapple resting against the rim.
âSoâŠ. Which oneâs him?â Your childhood best friend, Daisha asks. Quickly following her gaze, you see sheâs onto the right group of people, at least. Heâs there, all right. âIf I didnât know he was your brother, I wouldâve guessed green shorts just based off type,â she verbally points out Damian with a chuckle and nudge to your side.
A scoff escapes you before you can prevent it. Hand flying to your chest, you make a face of disgust. âEww⊠why you would say that-?!â
âLemme guess- Superman shorts?â She teases, studying your reaction. âI was just kidding! Calm down. Geez!â You can't bear it, however, still disgusted even by the implication, you shake your head before finally gathering enough strength to shoot her dagger eyes. "Okay, so I'll take that as a 'no'. That leaves only one option left: orange shorts," she announces.
Lying on the pool float nearby, hands clasped across his stomach relaxedly, eyes hidden behind sunglasses, their blue orbs follow the same path that the girls' do. Listening on their conversation, Tim revels in the fact that it seems they haven't picked up on it, yet he's getting all the juicy information. "He's cute. Simple, but cute, I guess. It's his eyes, isn't it?" It's the way your friend, what was it... Daisha? He's pretty sure it was. Daisha says it in such a sure way that makes him almost burst out laughing. You refute it, but the way your cheeks darken a bit doesn't lie. He watches you splash her meekly before a little war ensues, sending you swimming away, finally calming once you're both sat in the little alcove by the random steps along the side.
Unfortunately, the both of you are out of earshot now. While he'd want to drop a foot into the water off the float and try to use it to get momentum to drift in that direction, it'd be too obvious. However, just as Tim decides he has to do so, Gar and Dick come splashing noisily in his direction quick. As they pass in their little show of bravado of 'who can swim to the other end there and back faster?' their strokes send a current of waves making his floatie rock and his body wobble as he grips onto the sides, eager not to fall in. After all, he's only just gotten warm. Luckily, however, it would seem someone really is looking out for him as momentum sends the floatie in the direction of the alcove.
"So where's your hot brother?" Daisha asks
âOuch,â Tim comments, sucking in a breath between his teeth. He lowers his shades down the bridge of his nose, revealing bright blue eyes that stare down at the two of you. âI have to assume you donât mean me, considering Iâm right here,â he partially jokes, feigning hurt as he puts his hand over his bare pale chest. Itâs only after an awkward moment of you two worrying youâd offended him that he laughs.
Itâs contagious. Daisha laughs, meanwhile you canât help but smile, eventually joining in. Even if your thoughts still course through the back of your mind. Had he heard your conversation? Would he tell? Would he even care? âItâs okay,â he speaks up again, breaking the silence. âI didnât take it personally. Though I will say that whoever it is you do think is âthe hot brotherâ is can guarantee you isnât worth it, sunshine,â he divulges with a scoff as he shakes his head, shades back up in their proper position.
âOh,â Daisha quietly exclaims in surprise, scooting closer to the edge of the underwater ledge. âAnd what makes you say that?â She baits, knowing itâs a sort of tactic many canât resist. Give someone room to vent, and eight times out of ten theyâll dish. As she leans closer, expectantly waiting with a mischievous smile upon her lips, you canât help but perk up, somewhat interested in the prospect of hearing his opinion on the family and whatever secret sides youâve yet to witness.
âYou really want to know?â Tim baits her back, teasing her with a hint of teetering on the edge of juicy gossip. âMight tarnish your image of whoever it is,â he throws out there with a singsong voice, followed by a mock yawn for exaggeration.
âWell you canât just say something like tha-â Daisha begins to argue, brows furrowing.
âIâd be curious to know,â you admit, voice waning in volume the longer you speak. Unsure whether indulging in gossiping behind the other brothersâ backs is a good idea in the long run. This garners his attention as he lowers his shades again to eye you, the only person who hadnât chimed in until now. Thereâs a brief look of speculation before a smirk breaks across his face. Pushing the shades back so theyâre resting atop his head, Tim returns his gaze forward as he looks across the yard.
âWell⊠say itâs Dick,â the boy proffers, âhe and Kori are constantly on and off at best. Thatâs just a lot more drama than Iâd want to deal with, personally, but if thatâs your thing- be my guest.â Of course, youâre sure he isnât actually advising Daisha to go off and start flirting with them considering your age gaps. You canât deny the tidbits heâs only starting to divulge utterly capture your attention, however. âBut if thatâs not enough, heâs so⊠hot-headed. Either cool as a cucumber or a flaming douchewadâ
âHonestly⊠I could see it,â Daisha comments with a tilt of her head as her eyes drift to the couple across the yard, talking on the patio with their other friends: Gar and Rachel.
âReally? I wouldnât have guessed,â you respond. âWell, the first part anyways.â
âAnd if itâs Damian?â Tim scoffs again, a sort of laugh having mixed with it. âForget about it! The little devil only cares if youâre an animal, and has no sense of a filter.â
âAnd lastly, if itâs Jason⊠well⊠then actually heâs probably your best bet. I mean, heâs sensitive, smarter than he looks, and is a good cook. Though heâs also somewhat impatient, righteous, and then thereâs definitely the way that heâs more of a lone wolf, so⊠if you can put with that then, I guess by all means.â Tim chuckles as he shrugs, curious as to Daishaâs thoughts. As the girl looks over the partyâs guests, she looks back at Tim with a dumbfounded look. Everyone has their red flags, you suppose.
ââââ
Opening the back door, you tug your towel a little tighter around yourself as you try to keep it from falling. The empty platter youâd been asked to bring in by Mister Kent makes balancing the tasks tedious. Really, youâd wanted any task to get your mind off things, and perhaps go inside for a moment alone.
âAre you kidding me? Youâre really going to fight this?!â Jason shouts. Finally raising your eyes to the scene before you in the kitchen, the men stand circled on the other side of the room behind the island.
âWhat? Like it caused a huge problem? She-â Dick scoffs, crossing his arms over his chest.
âLike she has any friends! We were only trying to help,â Damian says. Hands settling on his hips, he tilts his head in triumph up at the group.
âBoys-â Bruce grits through his teeth. Shifting his weight from one foot to the other.
âOh really?â Tim chimes in. âBecause you were so thoughtful!â
âItâs her birthday,â Bruce adds on.
âOh, like you were being thoughtful by inviting Clark and Diana,â Dick accuses Bruce, turning his attention on the older man. The slow movement of the empty platter in your hand onto the counter to your left catches his attention. Out of the corner of his eyes he spots you.
Bruce clears his throat and straightens his posture. âActually, I-â he tries to clarify himself.
âExactly! Took the words out of my mouth,â Tim comments pridefully as he turns his focus from Dick to Bruce.
âItâs not your party either! You donât get a say,â Damian argues with Tim.
âGuys,â Dick calls, his eyes on you with a guilty look. His eyes linger on you.
âAnd youâre still arguing this,â Jason sighs.
Tim clears his throat, having spotted you along with Dick. Before the rest of the group catches on, Alfred comes in from the dining room directly to your right. âWhatâs wrong?â He asks you worriedly. The unexpected voice is what gauges everyoneâs attention. As Alfredâs hand slips onto your shoulder as he looks down at your wet cheeks, he has a sympathetic look on her face. âWhatâs going on?â His kindness suddenly turns sour as he turns his attention onto the men before you.
âWe-â Damian begins, but a pointed look from Alfred shuts him up. If anyone was going to give a valuable explanation of what truly aspired, it certainly wasnât Damian.
âI was trying to point out how shitty it was that they all invited their friends when the party isnât for them,â Jason elucidates with a cross of his arms over his chest.
âWe just thought it might be nice for there to be more people,â Dick adds on, rebutting Jasonâs point.
âYeah, she only has one friend!â Damian chides exasperatedly.
Alfred puts his hand up, effectively shutting them all up from any further comments. âWell, quite frankly I am sorely disappointed in the lot of you. Each of you knew better and even if you had good intentions in mind, it is still Miss-â he says your name, âbirthday, and yet you have all made her cry.â
With a shake of your head, you wipe the tears from your cheeks, no longer crying. âItâs okay! Really,â you protest, âIâm not crying because anyone invited anyone, I justâŠâ head hanging a little, you sigh before facing Alfred again. âIf there was anyone I really wanted here, it was my mom. I realized that⊠sheâs not gonna be there for anymore of my birthdays. And she was always the one who was there.â Voice dwindling the longer you speak, you find yourself getting choked up again. So much so that you have to turn toward the door again, the bright and festive landscape just outside the screen a stark contrast to the dark shadow seemingly surrounding you.
You donât know if the sudden quiet in the kitchen is appreciated or not compared to the fighting thatâd been taking place just moments ago. Behind your back all the men give each other looks as no one truly knows what to do, how to make it better for you. Yet, the old man comes through once more. With a hesitant and gentle touch of his hand to your shoulder again, Alfredâs presence is known. Perhaps itâs the warmth in his touch that makes you feel somehow cared for, or the way heâd stuck up for you when you didnât even know you needed someone to.
âMay I offer you a tidbit Iâve been pondering on,â Alfred proposes quietly. While you donât face him, you simply nod; wiggling your nose, you donât want any of them to see this side of you, crying, nose starting to run. âI may not have known your mother, yet, from everything Iâve heard about her, I can surmise that⊠I believe she would be happy that youâre taken care of, and, that it looked like you were having fun today.â
He lets the sentiment linger in the air for a moment before ever so gently tugging on your shoulder, encouraging you to face him. âWould you say thatâs at least a somewhat accurate assumption?â The old man questions, the inkling of a smile on his lips as he simultaneously looks you over. Itâs hard to say, really, the thought hadnât crossed your mind⊠yet, deep down you know heâs right. Lips curling in on themselves, you nod slowly.
âYeah,â you quietly respond. âI just⊠didnât think about her at all, until⊠now.â While youâd managed to quell the silent tears, the hard truth you hadnât wanted to admit stirs something in your gut as your eyes begin to well up.
âCan I give you a hug?â Alfred asks, hand tacitly beckoning forth the men outside your peripheral vision. Tentatively you nod in response, which leads to the man enveloping you in his arms. Clearly he doesnât care if your bathing suit or towel dampen him. The tears naturally fall, and you grieve the loss of your mother once again. Yet, somehow the burden is slightly lessened as you feel not one pair, but two, then three, then so many youâve lost count begin to surround you. Itâs somewhat suffocating, honestly, yet the knowledge that youâre not alone, and these people actually care for you is something that makes you feel exactly what heâd said: cared for.
When you finally all break off and head back outside, you find that falling back into the rhythm and excitement of the party is easy. Overall, itâd been a fun day! Seeing Lois Lane in a stunning one piece and gigantic sun hat was so unlike anything youâd ever seen before, not to mention that youâd gotten to play football with their son, Jon. Sure, maybe a part of it was to impress Billy with your skills, but youâd all had a blast! Youâd also gotten to meet your Fatherâs closest friends. Getting to know Clark Kent better, he seems like a nice and fun guy. Diana Prince was definitely fun to talk to, her business in art restoration eliciting a lot of curious questions on your behalf. Then there was also the fact that she was just generally stunning and you wish you could know some of her beauty secrets.
Then there was Steph who showed up with another friend in tow: Connor. He was fun, offering for you to join them as they played a sort of makeshift Volleyball game in the pool. Surprisingly, your team of you, Connor, and Daisha won against Steph, Tim, and another friend whoâd showed up later: Kara. Youâd have thought she and Stephanie were practically twins if she hadnât introduced herself. Unfortunately, she couldnât stay long and you didnât really get the chance to talk to her all that much, but her cheery personality definitely uplifted the energy of the party.
Next, you finally were introduced to your apparent cousin whoâd come late: Helena, as your Father introduced. She definitely appeared bougie from the looks of her, though thatâs something you actually were impressed by, silently wishing to one day embody such an aesthetic. Lastly, Billyâs brother âintrudedâ for a few minutes as his family had come to pick him up, the brother named Freddy exuding a whirlwind of excitement as he raved about your familyâs legacy. You couldnât deny he was funny, and you had wished heâd showed up earlier.
Lying in bed that night, you run over the dayâs events and canât help but feel that it was a definite success as you remember the way everyone had gathered around you with the lights turned off on the patio as they sang Happy Birthday to you. The wish had taken a moment as you hadnât known what to possibly wish for, yet ultimately it came to you. Everyone made you feel utterly whole, and as youâd taken the time to talk to your momâs picture later, informing her of the dayâs events, you canât help but feel that maybe, just maybe youâre making progress. Itâd been a good day. Heck, a great day. Youâd even gotten a few moments to flirt with Billy when Daisha distracted the other two with her words and charms.
The othersâ birthdays pass in quick succession. Alfred and Jason have a joint birthday, the party lively and filled with a nice dinner and board games to follow. Youâd been surprised by your Fatherâs talent at charades, while Damianâs struggle at Scrabble was somewhat illuminating.
Next is Damianâs birthday, which is everything youâd expect of a teen turning fifteen. Filled with his close knit of friends, you all enjoyed a day of laser tag, cake, and putting up with the birthday boyâs behavior. It wasnât awful, but itâd been interesting to see the boy attempt to truly enjoy himself. Weirdly it seemed as though it came second nature for him.
ââââ
Knocking on the door, youâre quickly met by someone unexpected. Lips parting in shock, your eyebrows furrow in confusion. âBilly?â As the two of you stare at one another, it doesnât take long for a bigger hand to wind up on the door, opening it wider.
âArenât you gonna invite her in?â Mister Kent asks with a chuckle. âCome on in,â he says your name. It elicits an appreciative smile, as you hadnât thought heâd remembered, or that he cared, but apparently you were wrong. âYou two know each other?â He asks, closing the door behind you as the two of you shuffle further inside.
âWeâve met,â Billy replies hesitantly, green eyes shifting over to meet yours. A sheepish smile sits on his lips.
âBriefly,â you add. âI just came by to pick up-â
â-Damian. Of course! No problem,â Mister Kent repeats your name, âweâre just setting the table. Do you want to help? The boys are out back, but weâre about to sit down and have dinner.â Upon this revelation, youâre confused as to why Billyâs here, nevertheless, you put on a gracious smile and nod your head.
âSure!â You respond. Mister Kent shoves forks and knives in your hands, a stack of plates wedged in the crook of his arm.
âIâm assuming youâll be joining us? Do you mind grabbing another set, Billy?â Mister Kent asks. âYou showed up just in time!â With a smile in your direction, you feel a little embarrassed. Now youâre the one with a sheepish smile. Billy nods and heads into where you assume the kitchen is. As Mister Kent walks through the open doorway to the dining room, you find yourself feeling bad for having to turn them down.
âAlfred is actually making us something right now. I was just sent to pick up Damian, since Iâm working on my driverâs license right now,â you reveal. With a thick swallow, you meet the manâs eyes with a saddened smile.
âWell, itâll take at least an hour and a half to drive back, so what if you call up Alfred and tell him youâll be late? No sense in him starting something when weâve got plenty to share. Plus, Iâm sure Jon would love to see you again.â
Mentally debating it, Mister Kent distracts you with another question. Multitasking, he starts putting down the plates and arranging the cups that were already on the table. âAlso, if you only have your permitâforgive me,â he states your name, â-but how did you drive all the way here? Arenât you supposed to have an adult with you to supervise?â
An awkward chuckle leaves your lips as your free hand comes up to rub at the back of your neck. âI did! Sort of⊠everyone else is away, so Alfred was the only one available and he was on FaceTime the whole time I was driving-â
â-so you were on the phone and driving the whole way here?! Absolutely not, Iâll-â
â-It was Alfredâs idea! Plus, he said he didnât have time to pick up Damian and go with me for driving hours, so-â You defend.
â-I still donât see in any way how thatâs a-â
â-Oh, hush now, Clark. She was obviously safe, and if anything were to happen then at least Alfred would be able to call someone, right?â A woman interrupts as she walks out from the kitchen holding a plate of corn cobs and a bowl of baked beans. Sliding around the big man, she places the items down on the table. Billy chuckles in the doorway of the kitchen as he watches the man capitulate to the womanâs defense.
âRightâŠâ you slowly get out. Though it dawns on you who this is, now that you can see her face. âYouâre Lois Lane! The reporter- the journalist from the Daily Planet!â It comes out before you can stop it, and youâre suddenly visibly in awe at the fact that youâre literally in the room with a celebrity.
âThat, I am. I take it youâre a fan? Iâm glad some kids are still into literature and current events in this day and age,â she responds, âlord knows so many kids are all about that tick talk now and all those different YouTube celebrities.â With a deep breath, she places her hands on the back of the chair at the head of their table.
âAnyway, itâs a pleasure to meet you,â she says your name, âIâve heard so little of you I was beginning to think you were just a story my boys made up! Please, sit. Weâre just bringing out the rest of the food. Donât let Clark guilt you into helping him like he did, Billy,â she chides. With a laugh she heads back into the kitchen, sneaking around her husband once more.
âI did not guilt him,â Clark defends, âdid I guilt you into helping me, Billy?â The man looks over at the boy leaning against the doorwayâs frame watching the whole scene pan out before him. Suddenly with the attention on him, he jumps into action, placing the final setting in the last seat open at the table.
âI wouldnât say âguiltâ⊠though I did only come in to use the bathroom,â Billy responds, chuckling at the end as he tries to play his words off as a joke. âI donât mind helping though. I have to do this every Tuesday night at home anyways.â
âWhy Tuesdays?â Clark questions, finally standing up to his full height again as heâs done straightening the plates and cups.
A goofy smile emerges on the boyâs lips as he shrugs. âI donât know, cause every other day was taken, I guess? I mean, there are six of us, so thereâs not a lot of other days to choose from when theyâve all already picked, you know?â He jokes.
Processing all this new information, youâre still stunned that Lois Lane knew your name, and heard about you from the men. While youâd probably wonder what theyâd told her any other time, Billyâs words have you wishing heâd say more, curious to hear more about him. âYou⊠have six siblings?â
âDonât you have, like, five?â He retorts, looking down at you from where he stands by the opposite head of the table Lois had been at.
âI guess thatâs cool. I mean, Iâm not technically related to any of my siblings so thereâs that,â Billy comments.
Lois pesters Clark to sit down, so he heads to the other end of the table to sit at the other head. She lies a plate full of veggies and another with buns and burgers on them upon the table. âWould you guys mind getting the boys? Then let me know what youâd all like to drink.â As she heads back into the kitchen, you look from the man to Billy, who nods for you to follow him.
Rounding the wall cutout between the dining room and living room, you walk past their couch, coffee table, and television to the sliding glass door. âSo⊠youâre getting your license?â Billy asks.
âTrying to,â you joke. As you brush your hair behind your ears, you listen as the boy goes on about summer coming to an end.
âYouâre gonna be a⊠Senior?â He questions, turning his green eyes on you as he comes to a stop only a few meters from the house.
âYeah! And you?â
âSame. I honestly canât believe it,â he admits with a shake of his head. As the two of you linger there, eyes meeting and averting each other, he eventually draws his attention to the laundry hung up on the clothesline a yard in front of you. âJon! Damian! Dinner time,â he yells between cupped hands.
Soon enough youâre all sat around the table. A prayer ensues before you all dig in, passing dishes around the table in a manner youâre more accustomed to than dinner at home. âDo you have any plans for the fall?â Lois asks you, your name falling off her tongue easily.
With a swallow of the corn in your mouth, you nod your head. âWell, Alfred has really been pushing for me and Damian to do something after school, like sports or something,â you begin, everyoneâs attention falling onto you with intent expectation. âAnd I thought maybe itâd be fun to try out for the cheerleading squad. The tryouts are next week, so, Iâve been trying to practice and get ready.â
âThatâs amazing! I hope tryouts go well,â Lois compliments. âAre you trying out for anything Damian?â
An annoyed scoff slips past his lips as the boy has to restrain himself from rolling his eyes. âNo. I think not, though there are a few clubs that may have caught my intrigue. I doubt theyâll be up to standard but itâs worth scouting out the competition.â
âIâm joining Chess Club!â Jon adds.
âWell, these all sound like fruitful endeavors. What about you Billy?â Clark asks.
A thoughtful hum comes from the boy, even if he has his head downward on his plate, pushing the food around. âIâm not entirely sure yet.â
âWell, I know some sports stop taking people before the school year starts, and clubs fill up fast. So Iâd check with the school to see what you can do! Itâd definitely look good on your resume going forward,â Lois posits.
Continuing to indulge in idle conversation throughout dinner, soon enough itâs ended and of course Lois insists she can handle the dishes. Bidding the Kent family goodbye, Lois and Clark offer you a tight hug before stopping you at the door. âYouâre welcome here anytime,â Clark states.
âWe wanted you to know that. While we donât know the entire circumstance of your situation, we wanted to let you know weâre here for you,â Lois expands.
With the warm sentiment and full bellies, youâre off. Still somewhat giddy that youâd gotten a hug from Billy, you try to memorize the feeling. Youâd also gotten one from Jon, too, which was nice, but⊠you canât help the way you feel about Billy. While Damian had vaguely put up a fight against you driving, it was his only option of getting home, so he acquiesced. Nevertheless, youâre feeling hopeful for the beginning of the new school year!
àšà§ PLEASE DO NOT REPOST MY WORK - REBLOG DON'T REPOST àšà§
âPlease do not take this the wrong way, Y/N but you do not look long for this world.â
Diana leaned over you, her face a mask of worry and concern. For as long as sheâd known you, youâd been a [blank] of vitality with a clean bill of health. And now some human ailment had reduced you to a pale, weak, feverish version of your former self. To say she was worried would have been an understatement.
You blinked bloodshot and blurry eyes at her. At first, thinking her appearance in your bedroom a happy hallucination. And then she laid that back of her hand against your brow. Her skin was cool and inviting. A soothing balm to the three-digit fever holding your body in itâs grip. You grinned. âYou can say whatever you want as long as you keep your hand where it is.â
Diana shook her head but did as you asked until the fevered heat burned away the blissful cool. Diana switched hands. âYou should have called someone, Y/N. A doctorâŠa friend.â
You waved off her concerns. âIâll be fine,â you said. âIâm perfectly capable of looking after myselfâŠIâve been doing it forever. And anyway itâs only the flu. We humans get it all the time.â
âI know. I left my home and joined your human societies at the height of the influenza epidemic of 1918.â
You blinked. âDonât you think thatâs a little extreme?â
Diana shook her head. And when your fevered brow swallowed up the cool, she moved about the room, picking up dirty dishes and emptying the overflowing trash can at your bedside.
You frowned at her. âWhat are you doing?â
âTaking care of you. Iâll be back with medicine and a cold compress,â she promised over her shoulder.
You didnât know how to feel. Being taken care of, and looked after, was a luxury youâd never been rich enough to afford. Both in love and friendships as well as actual funds. It feltâŠstrange. And a little burdensome.
Almost as quickly as sheâd gone, Diana returned with more than she promised. In only a few moments she returned with a tray holding medicine, the compress, a thermometer, a steaming bowl of leftover soup from the fridge, and a tall glass of orange juice. She sat the tray down, told you to sit up, and started fluffing your pillows. All the while you were silent.
âYouâre not a burden, Y/N.â
Your face heated. âI-I didnât sayââ
âYou didnât have to. I know you, my friend. I know your life has been hard. Just as I know that you feel as if asking for basic care and attention makes you feel as if youâre asking too much. Youâre not.â Diana took you by the shoulders and laid you back against the pillows. âLet me do this for you.â
Summary:Â There are far too many ways for the meet the family date to go wrong, especially when there are lost guns and misunderstandings involved.
Word Count: 1136
You had desperately wanted to make a good impression. You'd never really made it to the 'meet the family' phase of the relationship before and you didn't want to mess this up. It was intimidating enough sitting in the expansive drawing room with all eyes on you. The idea that just by opening your mouth you'd probably end up putting your foot in there was daunting.
Dinner had seemed to go well enough. None of the potential fights Jason had warned you about had actually happened, which you couldn't tell if that was a good sign or not. If they had fully welcomed you into the family, they would let their guard down and let stupid fights break out, but you tried to remind yourself that this was only a first meeting and that evenuality would come along before you knew it. Â
You didn't have time to over think it before your phone started ringing, and knowing that work didn't call unless it was important, you excused yourself from the room to answer. Jason studied your face as you excused yourself, trying to gauge if this was going to be a 'we get to leave' kind of work call.
"What do you mean you lost the gun?" You questioned as you rounded the corner out of the doorway.
"And you're sure someone didn't just leave it on a shelf?"Â Your voice carried no matter how much you tried to hush.
Jason could sense Bruce's eyes narrowing in your direction. It didn't take much for him to know what the man was thinking. Jason had already heard enough of it with his own track record. Â
It seemed the writing was on the wall, and judgements already made. He was disappointed, but not surprised. The night had gone far too well, and it was only fitting in his mind that Bruce would take something good in his life and twist it into something terrible.
"And you wonder why I've been in this relationship for well over two years, and this is only the first time I've brought Y/N here. So definitely not just a stranger," Jason countered. He could feel the anger rising, and as much as he was trying to keep things relatively sane in the manor for your visit, he couldn't help as his voice kept growing. "You just love to take things out of context and villainize them, especially if it has anything to do with me and anything I love. I mean, c'mon Bruce, you really live to the expectation on this, I just can't tell if it's living up to it or down to it."
Jason's bellowing had you abruptly hanging up the phone running back into the drawing room. You'd only seen him this angry a couple of times, but this time was different, you could see the pain it was stemming from standing right in front of him. There was always a distance to it, something he only had to prove to and remind himself, but this time was different. This time the manifestation of his personal shortcomings stood chest to chest to him in icy judgement.
"I think there may have been a misunderstanding," you hurried to begin to explain. Your voice grew progressively more stern, more protective. "I manage a store, and sometimes I or some of my associates accidentally leave our scanner gun on a shelf while changing stock around or checking inventory. I make sure the entire store takes safety very seriously."
Jason knew what was going to happen next if he didn't intervene. It was a self-fulfilling prophecy he supposed. He had warned you of the high probability of a fight breaking out during your visit, but he had been sure it would have been between his brothers, not you going toe to toe with Bruce. Without interrupting you, he started guiding you to the door. His hands on your shoulders only served to embolden you.
"You should know part of the reason I wanted to come here and meet you tonight was to thank you for the generous Wayne Foundation scholarship I was awarded for college. I only got through two years before my mom got sick, and because it was just the two of us, I left school and started working in a store, the one I manage now, to help keep everything going. But yes, thank you for the opportunity, however ultimately unfulfilled it may be." You couldn't veil the sarcasm in your voice anymore. If you were to be judged, you were going to play into it. You weren't necessarily proud that you were willing to stoop that low, but here you were taking satisfaction in the way Bruce's face fell slack as you got the last word in.
It was quiet as the car passed through the long driveway from the manor back to the main road. You both needed to cool off and put some distance between yourselves and the house before breaking the silence. You were more than a little surprised to look over to the driver's seat and see that Jason wasn't brooding.Â
"He's probably still standing there dumbfounded," he speculated in awe. "Nobody ever has the nerve to stand up to him like that."
"You were holding your own when I walked back in," you countered.
"Okay, no one who hasn't had to endure living with him has ever had the nerve to stand up to him like that," he corrected himself. "Once he's over the shock, he's going to respect the hell out of you. You might even end up with a job offer."
You didn't hide the small smile as you turned to watch the passing streetlights. It had been a long time since you had impressed someone like that, or at least a long time since you felt that you impressed someone, Jason is the first to tell you how you impress him every day. You glanced back to him and rebutted, "I actually like my job. There's no way I'm leaving just because I made a rich man feel like an ass."
"I know all of that, and that's what'll make you turning it down so much better," he mused.
You didn't miss how he chuckled and smiled to himself at the thought. There was a complicated relationship there you only hoped to one day understand. In the meantime, you had no doubt you and Jason could be enough for each other.Â

Ways Jason Says âI Love Youâ (Jason Todd x Reader)
Something short and sweet because I really needed some fluffy Jason.
-It took you a while to realize that Jason Todd doesnât say âI love youâ
-At first it bothered you, a lot. Because your boyfriend wouldnât say those three words to you.
-The first time you had said it out loud was  on a night when it was just the two of you hanging out in his apartment.
-You said âI love youâ and Jason just stared at you with wide eyes. There was nothing but silence for a moment and you felt your face heat up.
-You told him he didnât have to say it back. You could understand if he wasnât there yet. Jason had opened and closed his mouth, he was trying to force himself to say it.
-But you stoped him, because you didnât want him to tell you like this. You wanted true genuine feelings. Not for him to say it just because you did.
-Jason didnât look happy for the rest of the night, and you could tell the conversation bothered him. And it made you feel like shit, because you figured this signified the end. If he couldnât love you back.
-You went home that night grumpy and upset. You lay in bed wide awake thinking about Jason.
-You really thought your relationship with Jason was going well. He opened up about parts of himself, told you about his death and resurrection. To share something that personal, you had thought that meant he felt the same way you did.
-It was then that you realized he had been saying âI love youâ for months now.
-He says it when he grabs your hand, his large hand encompass yours completely and you feel warm. He says it when he gently squeezes your hand when he realizes you excited or when he rubs his thumb across the back of your hand when youâre nervous.
-Jason says âI love youâ when he comes to you with a book in hand that he thinks you might like. Or when he shows you a poem that reminded him of you.
-Jason says it when you two are together in bed, in every searing kiss and every moan. When he looks into your eyes and when he drops his head to nibble at the crook of your neck.
-Jason has trouble with expressing his emotions, after everyone that had hurt him in the past, so of course he had trouble saying three little words.
-But you understood now.
-There are millions of ways to say âI love youâ you just have to be willing to listen.

The burner phone wedged between your ear and shoulder rang as you waited for your friend to pick up. Acrid odors greeted your nostrils as you stepped off the subway, piss most likely. You were still surprised that cell phone coverage had extended even this far down. Gotham just didnât seem to be the type of place to have tech in their subway stations. At all.
Paranoia slowly sunk itâs claws into you as you glanced around. You pulled the bill of your cap down further. You tried to seem as grounded and not, well, Â scared as you were. Stay invisible.
âHey,â the gentle voice of your friend greeted as he picked up, pushing your anxieties aside just a bit. âI take it you just got off the subway?â
âYeah... at 14th,â you responded quietly.
âOkay, head south,â he paused. âYou still have the address?â You responded affirmatively. âGood, keys under the mat. Shitty hiding spot I know but itâs only been there like an hour.â He attempted to lighten the mood and you appreciated it, a small smile lighting face.
âRemember to avoid cameras! ATMs have them so I had the bank send a second credit card to the apartment. Theyâll think Iâm on a business trip to Gotham so no problems there.â
âIâll pay you back I-â
He scoffed. âNone of that. Iâm a fucking lawyer working for the biggest firm in America. I think I can take on some financial burden to protect my best friend.â The emphasis on the word âburdenâ made your lips twitched into a small smile. Sarcastic bastard. A beat of silence passed as you ascended the stairs. It had been so long since you had been to this city and you paused to look around. The promise of impending fall lingered in the air as you noted a slight chill go through your body. Good, you thought, more layers would be easier to hid in.
âI-â you cut yourself off with a sigh, knowing how stubborn he could be. âThank you, Tom.â
You could tell from his chuckle that he was pleased. âSecurity at the building knows youâre staying in my apartment and wonât bother you. Be warned, there are cameras in the lobby but try not to seem suspicious, alright?â
âDid you give them my fake name?â
âYeah...â you could hear him shuffling around a bit, his dog barking in the distance. âMake sure to check in frequently. Nick and I will look into our next options, alright?â You agreed. âAlright, gotta go. Love you, call me soon!â
âLove you too,â you mumbled while hanging up.
As you moved through the dreary city, you kept your head down and simply dodged any oncoming people. The dark towering buildings of Gotham caged you in but at the same time, gave you a little hope that you would be hidden within itâs shadows. The walk was short and easy, but unnerving. The hair on the back of your neck stood on end, it felt like eyes were on you at all times. You didnât breath easily until you were in the comfort of Tomâs apartment.
Even though you were happy to be away from people, you still did a sweep of the apartment, making sure nothing was out of place and nothing was suspicious. You knew it was unlikely that anyone knew you were here or that it had been bugged, it helped easy your nerves just a little bit. The second thing you did was unpack your large duffle bag. Beyond clothing and necessities, all it really had was your official papers (id, passport, etc), a phone charger, and a pistol. You let out an uneven breath as you placed the weapon on the table. This is the safety lock. Be careful there is recoil with it. Arms like this, yeah. Nickâs words rang in your head, this was real. You were shocked by how heavy it was and still couldnât see yourself using it even in self defense.
âCredit card,â you mumbled to yourself, breaking the spell of the glinting metal. You needed food and food required money so unfortunately that meant braving the world one more time. âFuck.â With a sigh, you rubbed your hand over your face, tired and drained.
You grabbed the hat one more time, a common Gotham Knights baseball cap and fixed it to cover your face. The plain, baggy navy hoodie worked to obscure your figure. One more look over confirmed that you looked like an everyday Gothamite. Deep breaths.
You avoided the elevator, less chance of being on camera, bonus: less people. The card was in the mail, just like promised and you headed once more out to the streets.
About an hour later you were a block away from the apartment building, arms laden with bags. It was going fine, no one paid you attention (though the burning feeling of eyes on you persisted). A sharp hit to your shoulder sent your bags flying, eliciting curses from you, directed at the man that bumped you. He looked at you, surprised as though you had materialized out of nowhere.
âSeriously dude?â
âShit, sorry,â his voice was rough. He shoved a hand through his black hair a shock of white in the front, looking flustered. You gave him a roll of your eyes but mumbled something along the lines of âyeah itâs fine.â
He awkwardly helped you gather the strewn groceries. Had your anxieties not been going haywire, you would have noted that he was attractive with blue eyes, and a tall, muscular body. When you had all your bags back, you walked away, ignoring the fact that he looked like he wanted to say something else.
Back in the apartment you kept yourself together long enough to put away the groceries. By then you were too tired to cook and the anxiety had left you with no hunger.
You paced in the living room, which was an open concept with the kitchen, giving you a direct eye line to the daunting gun on the table. By the time your feet were tired, you were able to at least sit down and realize pacing solved nothing. Unfortunately. You decided another sweep of the apartment may help though, so thats what you did.
After debating it for far too long, you took the gun into the bedroom and placed it in the nightstand. The bedroom was typical with white walls and nice furniture. The comfortable looking sky blue duvet was no surprise. Suddenly you were appreciative of Tomâs taste for the finer things. The apartment overall was very nice and you couldnât fault it. Thankfully he was also concerned with security, you mused. Your nightly routine was short and you quickly got into bed before you could get yourself stuck in another loop of bad coping mechanisms. Maybe something else would help you relax, the tense muscles of your shoulders beginning to ache.
You picked up the book on the opposite nightstand and began to read. The words ran together and you couldnât untangle them, causing you to re-read the same paragraph over and over. Then you attempted to meditate. All you saw was red and yellow and orange. You glanced to the nightstand where his white noise machine sat. When in Rome... Almost immediately you regretted that decision as the noise simply overwhelmed you.
After a few minutes of sitting in silence, the room dark, your eyes felt heavy, but your anxieties spiked. You tried to sleep anyway. Eventually, the world faded away and you slept. It was not restful.
You hummed as you stirred the ingredients in a bowl. A song played that you kind of knew - not enough to sing but enough to sway your hips. Your apartment was cozy and exactly how you wanted it. Intense eyes stared at you from the window of your apartment, you could feel his fiery gaze.
Burning. Burning. Burning.
The bowl slipped from your hands, flames rose from the stove, the oven roared to life.
âMine.â His voice melded with the sound of the flames. âYou are mine. Do not run from me.â
As the flames spread around you and your apartment fell away, he rose before you. Intimidating figure cut from stone, eyes of fire, hair of gold. The god he thought himself to be, brought to life.
Breathe.
The roar and crackle of the fire intensified until it was so loud you had to clamp your hands over your ears. The godâs lips move, smiling as he does. The words his lips formed repeated. Over and over. Over and over.
Slowly, you removed your hands to be met by not a roar but deafening silence. You couldnât hear the god. Now, you could read his lips, âI will find you. Do not worry. I am coming. I love you.â

I am truly sorry I didnât get the chance to post this last night! Unfortunately, I live in the boonies and we have very poor WiFi service here.
This is where we start to get to the actually plot of the story. The first seven parts are sort of a build up to this point. From now on, anything and everything could happen! Nothing is off-limits for me in this story!!
Basically, expect more twists, turns, and various emotional states as we go forward.
WARNING! Interesting cliff hanger that will both shock and piss some of you off.

A heavy sigh escaped your chapped lips as you stepped into your loft. You mulled over the dayâs events as you unwound the warm, fuzzy scarf from around your neck.
A lot had happened over the past six months.
After waking up from your surgery, youâd been greeted by the sight of a certain redhead asleep in the chair in your room. Your (E/C) eyes had scanned over the room for the other man in your life that you so desperately wanted to see. When you didnât see him, youâd tried to sit up and a rather loud gasp of pain escaped your lips. That had woken Roy and in mere seconds he was by your side. His green eyes looked over your bruised and battered form before settling on your face.
âAre you in pain? Sorry, dumb question.â Roy knelt next to you so that you two were at eye level. âGod (Y/N), Iâm so glad youâre okay.â
You opened your mouth to respond but found it too dry and scratchy to be able to form words. Luckily for you, Roy had been your friend for years and the two of you could read each other easily from the smallest of body movements. You flickered your eyes around the room, hoping your best friend would figure out what you wanted to say.
For a long moment, Roy didnât say anything.
He took a deep breath before exhaling slowly with his eyes closed. Once he had opened them, Roy looked you straight in your worry filled eyes.
âHeâs gone.â
Those two small words had shattered what little composure you had left. Tears welled up in your eyes and silent sobs shook your body. Royâs hand gripped yours gently and soft words of comfort filled the air.
The next several weeks flew by in a frenzy. From recovery to physical therapy, Roy was there every step of the way. Jade had come and visited occasionally, bringing Lian with her. The little girl was a godsend with her childish innocence and purity. You werenât sure you wouldâve made it through everything without those three.
Now here you were, living in a new city and trying to start a new chapter in your life.
Roy had been adamantly against you moving somewhere new, but he understood why you couldnât stay in Gotham. Too many memories of what youâd had made it next to impossible to go on with your life. A new place and a new start were just what you needed.
The transition had been hard, but youâd muscled through. You had found a new job, made new friends, and even went on a few dates with some random people said new friends introduced you to. You tried like hell to pretend that everything was fine, but you couldnât deny that there was a hole in your heart and life that would never be truly filled.
You missed Jason more than anything.
Royâs ringtone filled the quiet air of your apartment and made you groan in frustration. You begrudgingly pushed yourself up off your very comfortable couch and trudged to the counter. Shifting through your bag, you yanked the accursed device up and swiped your finger across the screen.
âLook Roy,â you tried to keep your tone as neutral as possible, âI appreciate you calling and checking in a me occasionally, but three times a day is a bit excessive.â
âHey! Iâve toned it back a little! Besides, this isnât to check in on you. Are you busy this weekend?â
âIâm a single high school teacher with friends who all have happy, couple things to do this weekend, of course I donât have anything planned.â You shifted the phone to your other ear as you reached for the bottle of water youâd left on the counter. âWhy? You need someone to babysit Lian?â
âIs it creepy how you already knew what I was going to ask you?â
âNah, weâve just known each other for too long. You and Jade wanting some alone time together?â
The redhead groaned in exasperation on the other end of the line. âWhy is it every time I want to spend time with her you insist on insinuating that itâll lead to sex?â
âNewsflash Roy-boy, it usually does.â A satisified smirk settled across your lips as the vigilante groaned once more. âRelax! Iâd be more than happy to keep Lian! What are godmothers for?â
Roy thanked you and the two of you quickly transitioned into talking about anything and everything. The two of you avoided certain topics such as Gotham and the Outsiders, but you could still sense the man wanted to talk about how you were handling things. Youâd been very clear on the fact that you wanted nothing more to do with Jason and that part of your life and Roy respected that. That didnât mean he wouldnât worry.
You glanced at your watch then felt your eyes widen. âCrap! Roy, I gotta go! Itâs almost time for my class.â
âIs it Thursday already? Damn, this week has flown by.â Roy commented. âBe careful heading to the gym and make sure to knock some heads for me.â
You quickly bid Roy farewell and hung up the phone. Rushing to get ready, you changed into some work out clothes and threw your (H/C) hair into a ponytail. You grabbed another bottle of water, threw it and your phone into your bag, and jogged to the door. You hurriedly put your coat on and headed out the door.
Youâd just pulled your key from the door and tuned to race down the stair when you ran face first into someoneâs rather well toned chest. Losing your balance, you fell onto you bottom hard. A pained groan left your lips as you rubbed your now sore forehead.
âDamn it, Iâm sorry. I didnât hear you coming up.â
An all too familiar chuckled registered in your ears. âYou seem to be in quite the hurry. Late for a hot date?â
Your eyes widened as the man standing in front of you offered his hand. A kind smile was on the dark-haired manâs face. His blue eyes sparkled with mirth and curiosity as you continued to sit on the ground.
There, standing in front of you, was the spitting image of Jason Todd.
